I wear eyeglasses and find that vision correction is helpful when I am golfing. I can't wear contacts because of my vision problem. The problem with my current glasses is that when I am swinging the frame of my glasses often gets in the way that or I am watching the ball with my peripheral vision where there is no correction. Has anyone found some glasses that work well for them? Possibly some with some interchangeable lenses for when it it sunny out.

Are you saying Uvex offers prescription lenses? Where?

I couldn't find the uvex prescription offerings either. I did find some sweet Adidas ones.

Yeah the Adidas are nice... but pricey and no interchangeable lenses. You can get clip ons for them though.

If I'm understanding you correctly you are saying that when you take the club back your line of site on the ball changes to the point where you are no longer looking at the ball through your lenses but perhaps looking under, or to the side your glasses, at the ball? If so then I had the exact same problem and it dorve me nuts for some time. It got so bad that I would take my glasses off when teeing off. That didn't work because I could never see where my ball went. Eventually I just trained myself to not pay any attention to that and just to trust that I will hit the mark. Oddly enough it works. I never even think about that anymore, just wind up and release.

Yup that is exactly what is happening. I can see well enough without them so I have been doing that for a year now, but I sure would love to have the best of both worlds.

You might check the size of you lens.I've worn glasses well over 20 yrs and have alway worn slightly larger frames.allowed me to keep ball in center of lens.I have gotten new frames recently and this are smaller then normal for me.Seems they dont make nice looking larger sizes anymore.
I found my swing was affected cause of these new frames. It would put my chin lower when i centered the ball in the frame. When i put my head in the correct location I found i would be looking between the bottom of the lens and cheek. No good.I went out and bought sunglasses and had my rx put in them.Much better now.Ball is towards bottom of lens with head in proper position.I can see and my shoulder clears my shoulder now.
So , i would look for the largest pair that looks good on you.

Then you have two options. You can get some BCG's (Birth Control Glasses) as CLN suggested, or you can extinguish that thought from your swing. I chose the latter and it works well for me. You really don't have to have a clear line of site to the ball to make good contact with it. Focus on other things during your swing like maintaining the shoulder/arms triangle, or tempo, or anything that keeps your mind off of looking at the ball. Once I committed to that it didn't take long at all.
Hope that helps!

I know Oakley makes prescription glasses. You should see if the half jacket(I think) has prescription lenses. The M frame does.

When I think of Birth Control Glasses, I think of Tom Kite pre-Lasik. Man his spec.s made Harry Carrys look like contacts.
I had the same problem with playing in glasses and contacts tended to dry out at the end of a long day. I Had Lasik last March and it's been great. If your condition allows, it may worth exploring.

Certainly. I learned about BCG's when I joined the Army many years ago. They are the thick black horn rimmed glasses you see on every classic nerd. That is what the Army used to issue visually challenged recruits. I think it was the drill instructors that coined the term BCG's.

I wear sunglasses, non-prescription, and peripheral vision and the elimination of frame when focusing on the ball is one of the most important features when selecting a frame style. I have always trusted Oakleys.
Oakley would be my first recommendation. Great lens tints, light weight, great fit and coverage. Available in prescription:

Unfortunately for Kite, when he finally got rid of the glasses everyone saw just how frightening he was to look at.

Oakley makes Half Jackets in prescription so you can get different lenses for different light conditions, but it will cost you a lot. Tag Heuer makes a really nice shield that can be made in clear or dark or transition. It's the best one I've tried for golf.

Rudy Project has wrap around sunglasses that are excellent for golf. Some have prescription lenses on the inside with non-prescription , interchangeable lenses that fit over the top of the Rx lenses. I have a pair in which the non-prescription sunglass overlay lenses flip up. When I get to the green, I flip them up so I can read the green and putt with just the clear prescription lenses, and then flip the sunglass lenses back down after I'm done putting. I love 'em!
