Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know about a great company you may have never heard of, The MacKenzie Golf Bag Company. They make fine leather Sunday style golf bags that are all hand made and can be customized anyway you want. They're the finest bags I've seen and look great with a set of forged blades and their matching leather head covers. A lot of the guys at Bandon Dunes carry them and they are sold at many fine private clubs such as San Francisco, Olympic, and Cypress. I spoke with the owner the other day and Ahmad Rashad just ordered a Green and Yello ducks bag with his initials and the Oregon Ducks logo on the inside of the ball pocket! Here is the link:

Check out some of the pics in the gallery. We can custom order any color or style you want and give you great pricing. Pretty cool stuff!

Golfingly Yours,

I saw those McKenzie Golf Bags a few months ago on the internet, I thought that they looked great and as a bonus were made of leather, I already normally carry a Titleist Sunday Bag, so they really caught my eye.

Then I looked at the prices.

Nice good quality bags, if you can afford 'em. The bag would be worth more than the entire amount of money I have paid for the clubs in my bag (mostly used prices).

In terms of design, they look a lot like my old (pre-stand era) carry bag - a good thing. If they offered an inexpensive, synthetic version, I would buy one.

Without at stand, I wouldn't want to put a leather bag down on wet ground. Since I play early (when I can), leather is a big problem.

I will say this, I have not had any problems with wet ground and my Titleist Sunday bag. The bag dries quickly and the clubs never get wet.

Remember, prior to the invention of the stand bag a few years back, all golfers rested their bags against benches or on the ground. And we (as well as our equipment) all lived to tell about the experience.

I have been using one of these bags for about a year and it is the best bag I have ever had. I have used it during a torrential downpour more than once and it was never a problem. (I live in Oregon and play in the winter so rain is a given) The bag gets wet but dries and you would never know it was ever wet. Honestly almost a year later mine looks pretty much brand new. I know they are expensive but its one of those things that is actually worth the money.

I agree. For years, I carried a Jones carry bag (sans stand) and laid it on the ground all over Texas between shots. BUT - it was relatively inexpensive and made of some sort of synthetic fabric made it easy to clean (and cheap to replace if it was damaged) if it got laid down in wet weather.

Given the amount of time I play in wet conditions in CT, I would be concerned about this bag due to its enormous cost.
