I just took mine off to have it refinished and my grip felt better without it.My wife doesn't mind as long as I put it back on after the round.Anybody else play with their ring on or not?

Definitely sans! I always joke that the gross weight of the wedding band (weight of metal + weight of the added responsibility) makes both the wedding band and marriage singularly (doubly, I guess) incompatible with golf. rolleyes.gif
As for the spousal pressure, I'm guessing you haven't been married too long. Right now you're wife wants you to put it on after the round, in a few years, she'll be satisfied if you don't pee on the toilet seat. blink.gif My own wife is just amazed that I haven't lost my ring yet (several close calls though).

I can't wear gold. I get an allergic reaction to it. It really isn't pretty. My finger swells up and turns beat red. I've tried mulitplte times. I thinking maybe looking at a different alloy.

I can't wear a ring no matter what i do. I have to take my watch off before i play.
Hifade
I wear my watch and my wedding ring. all the time, even when I play. I can't get the ring off so that's one reason why I wear it. Interestingly enough though, as I've gotten older, I've noticed a lttle arthritis in my ring finger. Could be coincidence or it could be the pounding of 100's of 1000's of balls when I was younger has taken it's toll. Because that is a pressure point teh constant jarring effect against that finger does make sense for the new found arthritis. Who knows........

I wear mine all the time. I thought it would take awhile to get used to playing with mine, but played while on my hoenymoon and never bothered me at all.
tpariff
I wear mine all the time. It's titanium (tour issue of course biggrin.gif ) and is extremely lightweight and really not noticeable. It's flat, not crowned, so I guess that helps.
bruinduke
Was just thinking about it the other day. I definitely don't bring my ring to the course for fear of it slipping off at some point in the swing. Not something that I want to lose.

Wearing it though doesn't bother my game. I've forgotten to take it off while at the driving range and haven't noticed any difference.
drstroud
I wear mine and don't even notice that I have it on.

It never bothers me either, i don't think i could play with anything else on my arms or hands, but my ring is not an issue.

No wedding band or watch for me either. It just throws me off for some reason.
handz98
I always take mine off when I play. I tell my wife that I need to take it off when I am playing because I am married to the game. wink.gif
Everardo
For other sports I had no problem wearing it but with golf I can't wear it.
bert-b
I always wear mine. If I don't then I keep fiddling with my finger wondering where it is!

I also wear my watch.... I guess I don't want to feel any major changes during golfing than the rest of the time.

Thanks,
Bert-B

I use to think I couldn 't wear one either but, when I went to try rings I settled on Titanium, of course, It's light and I hardly notice it's on.

I definitely play without my ring. My husband plays without his and I don't mind; I also don't expect him to put it on right when he gets off the course either. Your fingers have a tendency to swell after a round so that would be unreasonable of me to request it. I just tell to make sure he doesn't lose it. Because then he'd be in trouble. BIG trouble. angry2.gif

I can't even grip a club without noticing a huge difference. I think its because mine has a little crown to it. If I couldn't feel a difference I would wear it because sooner or later I am going to loose it and then (as Golf_Beauty just said), I will be in a world of hurt with the wifey!!!
inkboy
I don't have to put it back on right away I just do so I know were it is.I should take it off for my job [machinist] but I don't.I have a small white gold band and it is a little snug in the summer.
nickc445
I was granted permission to not wear while playing.

Yet, it forces you to grip softly when the ring is on. Mine cuts into my skin a bit --- mostly just annoying.

I always wear mine when I play. I used to take it off and then forgot once and it didn't bother me so now I always keep it on. It's platinum so it weighs a bit more, but I never notice it. I do take my watch though--can't wear anything else around my wrists or right hand.
stickman
Im not married yet so i don't have that problem. grin.gif

Depends on what the cart girl looks like

I don't wear mine at all when I play. I leave it at home with my watch. My wife does not mind at all.
Hairpie
Wear it always....hasn't been off my finger since I got hitched...
TNSooner
Mine is only 2mm wide so I don't even notice it when I play.

Watch comes off, though...
lars
dont play with mine. never felt comfortable w/ it on while swinging.

this is such a funny and yet relevant thread! I've actually lost 2 wedding bands somewhere between leaving my house on sunday morning, and returning sunday night. you guys might think my wife would kill me, but she knows that I can't even keep a ring on for more than an hour or 2. It just annoys me, I can feel it on my hand, and I can't stop playing with it. spin it take it on take it off... she knows I lose stuff all the time, so she's pretty understanding. It's such a double standard cause if she lost HER ring, I'd kill her. haha

I can't even wear my watch when I play because i swear it changes the centrifugal force.

I'm sure her ring has precious stones and therefore much more expensive than yours. My husband would kill me for sure if I lost mine. Mine was specially designed by him: platinum 3 carats. His - Titanium with no stones.

When I play no ring, no watch, no wallet. Just 3 tees, 2 coins and a scorecard/yardage book (in a pear tree). The lees things weighting me down the better (or thats what I think).
gslabbert
Never used to wear my ring and I have been married for decades. The wife did not seem to mind. Then one day I got hit on. Since then I have worn it and it has given me a callus from the pressure (guess I grip the club too tight).

The wife was not to happy about it when I told her stupid me, I have been married long enough too know better, I it did make an old man feel good.

I do not wear my ring while playing golf; it is too distracting. No watch either. I use to wear a watch all the time when playing, but now I find bothersome.
auggiewest
Never wore it while I played. Then I lost it and havent replaced since
eventually my wife may make me get a replacement but cant ever imagine playing with it on
FairwayFred
I wear my wedding ring but I cant play with a watch for some reason. I thought the ring would be a problem too but I dont even notice I have it on.
willie991
Have ALWAYS worn wedding ring the entire 40 years I've been married to this beautiful lady. Wore one out... Think it was after about 25 years it was getting very thin and she made me replace it. I wear another ring on the right hand and that MUST come off while playing. And, I've not worn a watch for about 4 years, anywhere, and don't wear one on the course.
maroonandwhite
I play with my ring on and don't even notice it, but I've never gotten used to swinging with a watch on. However, I think I've helped playing partners look for rings they've lost during a round at least a dozen times (which is probably why I started leaving mine on!).
Ziggy66
I don't wear mine while I'm playing, only because if I were to lose it out on the golf course (lost 2 cellphones last year), The amount of wife-guilt that I would catch at home would be absolutely immeasurable. russian_roulette.gif

No watch for me however.
slicer365
I think wearing it while you play is a big mistake. It takes away from your grip.
The Boom Bapp
Used to wear a ring when I first started but kept pinching my finger because of bad grip ideals, since then, I do not wear my ring while playing, wife does not either. Watches I dont' notice, I will play with it or without it, depends on if I happen to be wearing one the day I am playing.
Pundi64
I wear mine, it snuggles into the creese of my finger nicely has for several years, also we lead out the hit with our left hand (if right handed) and the weight of the gold, increases the hit that much more. LOL Every edge counts when it comes to golf, hope the PGA doesn't outlaw wedding bands.
th4par
I wear my ring all the time. That is the only jewelry I have, and I don't notice it while playing.
