Does general equipment include belts? I think so.....

So my wife laughed at me today when I bought this Puma bad a** golf white belt. It really is sick, but she is not so amused. She even pocked a few jokes wondering if I have changed my sexual orientation.

I just said you just wait until Valentines day partytime2.gif

So how many of you put on the white belt? Would you never wear a white belt and why? Does it mean that you have to bring your A game. I mean if you drop 67 on the boys, who is going to care what you are wearing.
kush614
I have a couple White Belts.

I think there is no better look than black slacks, black shirt and a white belt.

For some reason it just seems to look intimidating.

Intimidating? Really??? With that outfit it sounds more like you are at a Village People audition than a golf course.

I played a guy in the club matchplay who came to the first tee dressed exactly as you described. Even the referee for our match couldn't stop laughing at the guy. Christ, I was lucky I was able to find the fairway with my shot from the tee on the 1st and 2nd holes considering how hard I was trying not to laugh.

I think white belts are sick, Especially that puma one.
newstuff
i do!

White belts rock good.gif
I wear a J. Lindeberg one.
e-dog9
I think the cop in the Village People wore one, or was it the Indian?
littlepingman
I love white belts as well.
bsmit115
I'm 20 and I wear white belts. I have a Puma, J.L. and Express one. I think it looks better than those belts with the medallions all the way around them like you see so many golfers wearing. Also, alot of the kids at my college who are into skating and extreme sports wear white belts alot and some of the are pretty bad a**. My gf likes my white belts so maybe its time to do a little shopping for a new wife....Haha. JK!
drew123
White belts are awesome!!!!!!

Thats puma one is so sick, I am resisting picking one up because that is on of the last things I need.
Veritas
I just bought a white belt and my wife actually encouraged me to get it because she liked the look on me.
mr.beasley
ive got a white J.Lindeberg that i dont wear all the often anymore (not that i dont like it, i just like my black j.lindeberg more, lol!)... as soon as i bought it my dad ran out and bought a Ben sherman all white belt with a british flag for a belt buckle. it was kind of a worn looking leather and looked ridiculous to say the least. my step mom couldnt stop laughing and said something to the effect of they shouldnt make those longer than 38 inches. at least she didnt have to golf with him that day...
RunOfTheDill
whered you buy your puma belt? I dont know if those ebay ones are real. I wear a ton of khacki so white belts are out of the equation with my current style. I don't have anything wrong with it if your not wearing brown. I want a brown puma belt with a nice shiny buckle.
Chilidog
I have a J.L white belt. My wife loves it. I actually like wearing it with black shorts and a black and white shirt and black and white golf shoes...for the guy that laughed at the guy on the first tee box...it's who beats who on the 18th green that gets the last laugh.

White belts are so common now that you shouldn't feel weird about it.
Just because something is fashionable doesn't mean it's stylish
mr_golfhead
could someone offer examples of what looks best with a white belt?

Also, this opens up another question: White pants?

I've been told usually white belts and pants are better for thinner players, but i'd like some opinion on it.

Thanks.

On a realted topic...where can I find Ian Poulter clothing on the internet. His website is pretty crappy, anyone on here know where else I can find his stuff. I love plaids and bright colors on the golf course. I like the white belt!
Irridium
1. i think your wife might be stuck in the 80's... i can only imagine what would happen at home if you come home with a pink polo wink.gif

2. pargolfonline uk for Ian Poulter they have 50% off
RunOfTheDill
yeah, for sure on the thin. White would look good with blue pants or shorts as well.
muxi87
I do the white belt thing...I bought the Puma, and liked the look, but it just didn't fit right. I ended up selling it on here and buying the Adidas Trophy white belt--it's AWESOME!!!
Konrad
White belts are awesome. I don't think you should do the white belt and black shirt/pants thing if you're chunky at all. It just brings attention to your middle.
multi
Isn't it men standard issue that your belt is supposed to match your shoes? wink.gif I think white belts are fine.
beachgrovejunior
yup the shoes are supposed to match the belt supposedly, so i rotate my belts with my shoes
Samsquanch
I don't wear them, it would look weird on me... + I'm more of a Johnny Cash Black kind of a guy cool.gif
Irridium
shoes, belts, hats. all should match
HarboursideTC

What else would you wear with a pink polo and white golf shoes? A white belt of course - and a pair of lavender golf slacks.

I would love to play just like that but some of the hillbilly paradise courses I play at just wouldn't allow me to do this.
RunOfTheDill
but where can I buy a puma belt that isn't the bay?
Stewmeister
Of course, surely you know you can't wear white before Memorial Day...
mrq
off the course-white belt with jeans looks great plus a white shoe.. now you're looking plain sexy

at the course it depends shirt color and pants color...

I bought the Puma one from a member on here about a month ago. That belt is the sweetest belt ever!! biggrin.gif I've wear it with almost everything. I have one pair of black pants and the rest include a myriad of different color/styles. The white belt goes with it all!!

They carry lots of good Puma and JL clothes.

I wear a white belt from time to time. Also, have a couple pairs of white pants and a pair of light blue as well. It's what the Euros wear so why not, they look pretty cool.
TM golf guy 182
I've got a white belt. It looks good with black shorts and some white shoes. Nothing wrong with dressing good while you play good.
mhpopp
I have a white belt, I could be wrong, but I think it looks great with white shoes.
BallSpinner
Does anyone know where I can find a brown and white two-tone leather belt to match my white and brown shoes?

Mainly medium brown, with a white stripe in the middle:

brown
white <----white
brown

WOW I really must admit i am a bit surprised at how many homophobic comments have been presented over a non-chromatic clothing option. White belts/shoes, black pants/shorts with light colored shirts has been a fashion "yes" for the higher class male for well over sixty years. Perhaps that is the key... the "Higher Class" moniker allows one to separate sexuality from style. Oh, and please for the love of god, white belts are natural for DARK PANTS, please leave the flashy fads to the teenagers....and buy quality for god sakes... people are looking!!!
stage1350
She'll stop laughing when you backhand her.

When she stops crying, send her into the kitchen. Those dishes aren't going to wash themselves.

Get off your high horse and get a sense of humor man...higher class, now that's funny......gimmee a break. russian_roulette.gif

As my buddy Brett and I have always said and can attest to, chicks dig the white belt!

You'll generally find an inverse relationship between whether people think white belts look good and their age....

I think you bought the exact belt I want. It has the big leaping cat logo for the buckle, right?

White belts go well with white hats and white shoes. And I'm really liking the old-is-new trend that's been kicked into gear by the likes of Adam Scott, Ian Poulter, Geoff Ogilvie and others. The brighter colors, the white belts and even the plaid.

If any golf companies made a premium ball in pink, I'd play 'em. Except for Callaway. Nothing they could ever do would get me to play their balls. Except for a huge, huge check.

I like white belts, but the all black gig with a white belt is probably a little over the top lol, unless if ur wearing white shoes...maybe. White belt, white shirt is good though wink.gif. As well as a lot of other combos, but when you wear dark clothing and then a white belt it just looks...funny. That's just in my eye though lol. A new pair of Adidas Tour Metal II white shoes are my next main thing on the old fashion agenda biggrin.gif

That might have been true 4 years ago when very few people wore white belts. I've seen several times on tour this year guys in their 40's wearing white belts with baggy shirts and baggy, pleated pants. I think if you really look, a lot of the guys who started wearing white belts a few years ago don't really wear them anymore.
Big_Guy_Who_Golfs
I think you'd better have a 34 waist or smaller; otherwise you'd look a lot like Elvis. Add in some rhinestones and you're set.

Maybe this is what the original poster's wife was talking about. Not everybody can pull off the Euro/Lindenberg look and you better have serious game or you'll just end up looking like an A##.

Ditto

P.S. People were talking about Medallion belts....those are hideous!! I would rather wear a piece of rope!

5-6 times the year, I´m golfing in the states and the most difference to Europe is the golffashion. The Americans wear mostly
conservativ golfwear, in Europe golffashion is more trendy. A white belt is a stylish must and even the most seen brown shorts
and brown shirts golfers look better with a white belt.
