yeah, i would've expected him to switch to the Tour Burner if he was going to make a switch at all
hmm i like his shirt with the 3 stripes across the back

Well it is documented that he is having trouble with his putter so I bet he's trying the older driver out too to see if its any better!

Isn't the new Burner like 420cc? Maybe he is just stuck on 460cc? As for the putter, I liked the one at the Open as well, but after missing that putt I would have tossed it in a creek. I'm guessing he didn't though as it hasn't shown up on ebay.

I'm pretty sure there's nothing here that will be discussed between us that Sergio or his coach/caddy haven't thought of.
It's obviously mental. He breaks down in the big spot, bottom line.

Since he turned pro, Sergio has used more putters than anyone I can name. Changing drivers is one thing, but switching putters once or twice a year can't be good.

The new one's 460 too but I think he's thinking that the driver isn't as important as the putter right now and he's putting all his time in putting. Man, I hope their not telling him "If this big ugly spider putter doesn't work bye bye career."

He just can't seem to get it right. Ironically i remember seeing Sergio when he was 16 and cleaning up on the amatuer circuit and his putting was brilliant. I hope he sorts it out because Sergio along with Adam Scott are the two golfers on this planet able to strike a ball like Tiger. They just need to learn how to score like him!!!

Feb 1 2008, 07:43 PM
Sergio just needs to hit it in the 15-20 foot range on every hole, hit a few par five
holes in 2 each round and he'll be okay, he shouldn't 3 putts but very few times and he actually a good putter from that range. 3 footer's are a real problem for him. he winds up putting the same with every putter he tries, hot/cold/change putters.

In the case of a putter, bigger is not better. Just look at what the rest of the tour is putting with. Oversize = no feedback.

Hey, its golf equipment, which last time i checked was what this forum was for. A top 20 player switched to new equipment, its relevant.
Look i get it. some people like this site some liek the other site(s). but we can act like adults here. if you don't like the way another site promotes this putter or any of the product they sell then fine, but don't make comments like that which are childish and dumb IMO.

I wouldn't call the new putter ugly - just unusual
the new tour burner tp driver comes 2° open an just might not fit his eye like the burner tp ... and the burner tp normally generates a slightly lower launch angle than the tour burner tp which in turn provides slightly less spin AND the tour burner tp looks strange from the top (which shouldn't be a problem for sergio ... at least not concerning the putter ;-) ) because of the way according to TM reps they tried to lower the center of gravity on those clubs (pretty sure it basically just affects the sound of the club)

The Tour Burner TP is 450 cc's I'm pretty sure, the orignial Burner TP was 460 though a 10cc difference is pretty unnoticible.
