Let's see if I can do this without peeking.

I always start with 6 golf balls fit for play. I also have six shag grade balls for chipping around tees on slow days and a few Birdie Balls for the same purpose.

Tees. Two 1956 quarters, the ball mark of my choice. Two Scotty Cameron repair tools, gold and aluminum. Two stones from the North Sea off St. Andrews for good energy. Two gloves. One "I Gotcha" warm up weight. A Golf Round, this little circular thing that you dampen and stick in your pocket. On the green you clean your ball with it and don't need to drag your towel. Works great.

Sun screen. A couple of Sharpies. One of those gizmos that puts a line on the ball, but I rarely use it. A USGA rule book. Sky Caddie.

Two bottled waters, some nuts, energy bar, apple.

Umbrella and layers depending on weather. In California during much of the year, neither are necessary.

I think that's it.

Forgot a box of replacement spikes and some advil.

14 clubs, hundreds of tees, about 3 dozen balls (just because I can fit that many in the staff bag), skycaddie, bottle of dasani, Short sleeved windshirt, long sleeved windshirt, shaft weight, lead tape, green and blue sharpie, about a dollar in change, about 20 in cash, about 5 divot tools, fj beanie, spare spikes, MWT wrench, weights, a tin, sunscreen, bugspray. I think thats it.

Clubs, tees, balls, and a water bottle when walking (pushing or riding, it's in the cart). What else do you really need for 18 holes/4 hours? Sunscreen/bug spray is applied before the round, and playing in NC/SC area there's no need for clothes other than what I wear to the course.

Aside from my clubs..... lets see...... usually around 6 used balls and about a dozen new balls, anywhere between 5 and 50 wood tees, a small pocket knife, a bottle or two of water, a couble eastern caribbean dollar coins, which I use as a ball markers, a couple quarters that I keep as ball markers for my friends because they never remember them, a divot tool, granola bars sometimes, raincover, and usually some extra cash for when the drink girl comes around.

That's about it. Nothing exciting or out of the ordinary. I walk most of the time, so I try to keep the bag as light as possible.

The most important thing for me? Crappy balls that I find here and there.

This way I have something to "lend" when someone asks to "borrow."
I'm not giving a $4-$5 ProV to someone who is just gonna hook it into the woods, and certainly never return it to me anyway.

All the other stuff sounds about right too. Although I think I read somewhere up there that people are carrying 5 divot tools and lead tape...that would be a bit excessive for me. If I haven't got my swingweights dialed in at that point, I'm not going to be able to make any adjustments during a round. (that's just me)

I dont carry all that stuff for any particular reason, it's basically because my golf bag is my only space for golf equipment storage since I live in a small apartment

I'll be in the same boat VERY soon. My wife and I are expecting and my home office/golf room is being converted into a nursery. It's a boy, so hopefully it can go back to being a golf room if he loves golf (he WILL LOVE GOLF!).

So all that stuff you carry in your bag, it's in the trunk of my car. Same difference I guess!

Mercury mountaineer without a trunk cover doesn't lend itself to keeping a bunch of crap in your car, people will steal anything these days.

You speak the gospel. Not my golf gear, but I had a shite-load of sports equipment stolen out of my previous vehicle in broad daylight while people watched and the alarm went off.

Current ride has a trunk cover and no problems so far. (Now please excuse me while I find some wood to knock on.)

I try to keep it as light as possible, 3 or 4 golf balls, 20-30 tees, couple of gloves, golf towel, spike wrench, divot tool, sharpie, etc. all the required golf stuff. One of those stencils that make a straight line on the ball, that's an essential in my bag. I also keep a couple of band-aids and a small knife tool.
