Alright, right now I have a dilemma. I want to figure out the best way to fill the gap in between my 4 iron and my 3 wood. My current setup has two Cleveland HiBore hybrids (19 and 21). As my game has improved I don't like the fact that they are designed to help a slice. So I want to either go to a 5 wood and a more neutral hybrid or two neutral hybrids. I was wondering what you guys thought were the differences performance wise between a 5 wood and a hybrid of the same loft. Any preferences either way? Thanks

i imagine he means that many hybrids are draw biased: aka: hook machines?

yeah thats what i meant-most hybrids are designed to draw the ball a little considering some 90% of american golfers slice

The hybrids seem to help so many people because the sweeping swing that picks the ball clean from the fairway is tough for most golfers, me included. Taking a hybrid and being able to hit down on the ball hard is needed. I recently tried to add a fairway wood to my bag but after hitting a hybrid for so long I can not pick the ball clean with the fairway wood consistantly.

with most of my clubs i hit draws and my miss is a hook-so i don't need any help drawing the ball

IMO hybrids can get you out of much more situations than a fairway wood can. Like for example if i miss the fairway hyrbid> fairway wood because i dont like hwo my wood plays out of rough. Hybrids you can have much more lets say manipulation on the ball then woods. I would go with 2 nuetral

I carry 2 hybrids, but also a 3 wood (considering a 4 wood instead) for tight lies, long par 3's, and short par 4's, as well as those rare monster par 5's.

Since the only time I would use a 5 wood or hybrid is on an approach on a short par 5 or a long par 4, I like the wood because I hit it much higher than hybrids I have tried.

go with 3 wood then a 3 or 4 hybrid to fill the gaps..
im playing a 3 wood then a 4 hybrid atm
my 3 wood goes like 210
my 4 hybrid goes like 185
then my 5 iron goes like 175
those are small gap sizes ^^ it works well for me
PS im 14 so idk about u but it works
