Ten best scores of last 20 rounds played. Best scores determined by: Score minus scratch rating for the course. This number is multiplied by 113, the resulting number is divided by the slope rating for the course then multiplied by .96. Add up the ten best and divide by 10. The result is the handicap index.

Thanks bekgolf

I really had it wrong.

I thought is was the score minus par, then 80% of that.

If you want a free easy way to keep track of it go to www.fairwayfiles.com. You can create a group for your league and it does all the calculations as indicated above. It will also adjust for ESC automatically. Put your actual score for each hole in, if you get a 10 put down a 10, it will adjust ESC based on your handicap. You can enter previous rounds you have played and get a handicap index pretty quick. If you guys like playing skins, ect... this is a good way to keep track. Also, there is a section where you can select the players, and the course you will be playing, and it will print up a handicap card for you to take to the course. Since the course rating/slope can change how many strokes you get, this will do all the calculations so you don't have to.
