Hey guys! I'm thinking about turning my ogio grom into a cart bag since it has the torque strap and can fit everything i need and getting a separate carry bag. I love the grom, but i think it's a little too hefty to lug around on my back for four hours. I'm looking for something really lightweight (less than 4 lbs) with a good leg system and capacity for 14 clubs, so that rules out pencil bags. Of course there are the standard sun mountain superlight/titleist x8whatever. Some other ones that have caught my eye are...
sun mountain swift/mini: yet to see these in person
callaway mini looper: really cool looking bag, no experience with callaway bags though
nike xtreme light carry II: also very attractive, love the orange and gray color scheme, legs look a little weak though
mizuno aerolite: kabuki looks interesting, but pockets are lacking
ogio sticks/sliver: i love the woode system
sooooo....yea. this is where you guys come in. any positive or negative or votes for bags i have not listed are greatly appreciated. thanks a lot guys!

Check out the Ogio Vaporlite...3.8 pounds with a comfortable strap system. I've had no problems with mine at all.

I'll second that recommendation. I don't have one... yet, but I know a few people that do and they love them!

You might want to wait for the new Ogio models to come out. While the straps and the club organization system on Ogios has always been good, the complaints from owners are about the crummy leg system. That's why I haven't bought one yet.
Rumor has it that Ogio has a new leg system on the new models. If so, I may pick up a Vaporlite myself.

Sun Mountain 3.5 is good and for 2008 the straps are wider
If you don't use big headcovers, the SM Mini and Swift are good bags.
The Mini is a good walker - not too many pockets, just enough, it is made for light walking. If you don't use pom-pom headcovers, then you'll be able to see your clubs and get them out. If you like big headcovers, use the 3.5 -- I think they are coming out with a version in a velcro belt for taking weight off your back in the spring.

I recently got an Aerolite II to replace my Titleist stand bag (can't remember what model) and so far, I like it. Very light, good, comfortable straps. The top cuff is not terribly well suited to big, bulky head covers, and too many of the "socks" will bind things up, but the organization is pretty good.
My only gripe so far is that I wish it had some sort of bottle pocket. Oh, and it doesn't seem like the legs fully extend, but I've had that problem with every stand back I'v ever had.

I'd highly recommend the Sun Mountain. Never had the Swift...but it looks like a great bag. The Sun Mountain 3.5 is, IMHO, the best all around stand bag on the market. Is it perfect? Perhaps not...but it has just about everything you'd want or need, and the styling to me is spot on. Ogio makes a great bag...but their styling just does not do it for me. And the differences between these bags are most likely minimal...so go with something that you won't mind looking at for a while.

Personally, I just added a Ping Freestyle to my setup. Had a Hoofer in the past and loved it...using a Sun Mountain now...but just looking for a different look. They new black/black/white Ping is really nice looking! I should have it next week. Might be worth looking at.
Good luck!

yea, i really want to see a swift in person. it looks like the perfect median between the mini and the superlight.
does anyone have any experience with the callaway mini looper? or callaway stand bags in general? i just think that bag looks awesome and callaway claims it to be 3 lbs, but, like i said, i have no experience with callaway bags. how are the legs?
i'll also make sure to check out the vaporlite more closely next time i'm in the shop.
thanks a lot for the help so far guys! keep it coming!

The Mizuno Aerolite is the best bag on the market under 5lbs. There are plenty of pockets to carry what you need to walk with. Go get one you will not be disappointed.

I like the Ogio Ozone. I think it id 4.2 lbs.
Callaway bags are made by Ogio. I currently have a Vaporlite, it replaced my Mizuno areolite. I like the Ogio better. The Woodelite top on the Ogio is hard to beat for a stand bag of that weight. I'm just waiting on the 08 Ogio line to see..........mine is getting worn.
The Cally looper is intriging though.

I bought the ogio Sticks recently.
3.4 pounds, according to the advertizong.
Not sure it could take 14 clubs, though.
I carry 11 clubs , currently, when I walk.
Like you, I really think the Woode system is great.
I will put the Sticks bag in play at the end of the month during a california golf vacation.
the Wilson Staff web site has a stand bag called the Feather: it says it hold 14 clubs and weighs only three pounds. never seen one in person, though.

Before you decide, make sure that you take a look at the Sun Mountain MINI. I recently purchased this bag and love it; and yes it will hold 14 clubs and they do come out easy.
With 14 clubs, i can still keep a six pack of balls and some odds and ends, plus my Pinseeker too.
The only thing that i have not tried yet is attaching it to a cart, but if you are looking for a light acg i doubt you are planning to walk.

I currently have a Grom as my walking bag and I will be updating to the Ogio nexus as soon as it is available, this looks like its going to be another great bag by Ogio. There is another thread here that is about the new Ogio bags and BallSpinner located this video of the Nexus and it shows the new leg system that will be on the 2008 bags looks to be very nice.

Has anyone tried the recent Izzo bags? I am interested in their spectre/zephyr and the AS2/tornado. Has anyone had any problems with their legs? The AS2 bags are now being sold off and the suspension straps not continued to this year. Is the suspension system poor?
I have used an ogio vaporlite for the last year (2006 model) and am really happy with comfort and pockets but the legs are really poor. It falls over regularly and so I need a new bag.
