So after 9 months and 20 walking rounds of golf my Nike SP8's blew the tires. I noticed it the last couple rounds when my feet (mainly my heels) were killing me. So I took them back to Golf Galaxy and they are sending them in per warrenty.
Anybody else have the same issuse? and if so how does the warrenty thing work and what was the turn around

I had some SP6 Tours a year or so ago. They popped after about 6 months, golfsmith replaced them twice. I guess its nice that you can get... pretty much free shoes... every few months due to the warranty, but it might be a while before I buy more Nike shoes. GS just let me know store credit would be like $99 and to go pick whatever. The one time I just grabbed the same pair, same size, walked out with new shoes. The next time I grabbed some Footjoy GelFusion 2's and paid the $20 difference.
On the other hand, a little plastic brace part in my Footjoys broke too, I should take them back and get some new ones...

This is a pretty common occurrence with nike golf shoes.

Seems to happen a fair amount with these shoes, unfortunately. But from what I've read, every single busted shoe has been replaced regardless of warranty situations. Every shoe has faults. I have had 3 pairs of Nikes and never had this happen. Don't mean to offend anybody, but anyone who weighs more is obviously going to be putting a lot of stress on those air pockets. I've never had my 140 pound frame bust any shoes though....

I hope mine dont end up doing the same! I miss the old leather sole FJ Classics. I ordered a pair of the new classics and immediately returned them. I couldnt stand that goofy sole they use now. They have that perfect fit, that you expect from FJ Classics, but I wanted the old bottoms. I think you have to special order some exotic skin to get it now...
Hopefully these SP8 TW Special Editions hold up for a while....

Same here 2 pair of Nike golf shoes and a pair of runing shoes in the last 2+ years. I've since switched to Adidas 360's (I've already sent one pair back for a leak!). Would also vouch for Footjoys (I've never sent them back or had a leak). But the Adidas just fit my feet so much better.

Had a funny story here, friend of mine had SP 6s, after a while part of the sole in the heel came unglued, he sent them to the local street corner shoe repair boy with his maid. Did a great job in making sure they never came unstuck again. He stitched them right through the sole and airbags!!!!!!!! LOL

My sp 6s blew out a few seasons ago after some major use. Golf Etc. in Folsom sent them in for me and gave me full store credit. I didn't even buy them at their store. I did inform the sales person that I purchased them at a different store and I thought they had lived a good life, but I got new shoes from some great customer service.

it's crazy that so many people have this problem.
i've been wearing TW and Nike shoes for years and have never had an air sole unit pop.

Happened to me twice. Both times, I've been given a full credit and just got myself another pair. They used to hiss as water would collect either in or around the air pocket and then hiss every time you put weight on them.
Annoyed the crap out of me when getting ready to putt. As you weight moves for you to get comfortable they hiss and squelsh!
Anyway, I love Nike so I always get another pair and the best part is, I always get to keep the old pair which I use for practise on the range or when playinf a few holes. Merans I keep the good shoes for comps etc...!

What would you guys do?
I just got two pair of SP-6 II for XMAS, and have not even wore them out of the house yet. My white pair is already hissing when I land on the ball of my right foot, and sometimes my left foot. The heel cushion units seems to not have leaks. Should I send them back? I think I will call TGW and see what they say.

Go for it. Be polite and make it seem like he is doing you a favour! My top tips for keeping sales / shop people on side.

The pockets in mine actually fractured, little cracks all over there compared to a blow out, but I took them to GG, and they said they were gonna send them back. 1 week....2 weeks....3 week...4 weeks...2 months....3 months...I heard nothing back (I had another pair of spikes, so I was not too concerned about it). Finally after about 3 1/2 months, I went to the store to find out what was up, I thought it was just Nike taking a long time to replace. Turns out, they never even sent the shoes out, and they could not find them in the store either, they had no clue where they were. Fortunately the new manager/assistant manager/whoever he was/ authorized the sales girl to give me the full retail price of the shoes on a gift card. This was back in 2005, the last time I was up there most of the people are new, so it might have gotten better, but I do all of my retail shopping (and club work done) at the Edwin Watts off I-10 now. Even though it is smaller than the other Watts, every one in there is much nicer, and if they do not have something that I need, they can get it for me really quick, and once they even drove to the other Watts to pick up a headcover for me and brought it back while I waited.

I liked the look of the SP-8's (had a pair of SP-6 and SP-7 previously) and got a set in all black. First step I took let out a hiss. So I took them back and replaced them with an identical pair and after about a month of play (in the area of 20 walked rounds) and the second pair started hissing as well. I now have a pair of Footjoys. Like I said, I liked the look, but the fact that I blew out two pairs doing nothing with them but what they were intended for made me want to look elsewhere...

How do you know when they've blown out? Is the air sole flat? Is it just hissing?

I have a pair of original SP-6s and the right shoe air pocket has blown out.
I tried calling Nike to get them replaced...they told me the shoes were out of warranty...so I am stuck with them.
I wonder if I could return them to Golftown...
