Hey,
Out of interest, how do you guys feel about the company J Lindeberg and do you wear it?
I don't have any J Lindeberg clothing at the moment but i do like the styles but i'm not confident that they would look good on me. I'm a big fan of the belts and will probably pick one of those up soon.
However, round my way J Lindeberg has a bit of a bad rep within the junior ranks. It gets the sterotypical junior with the staff bag, electric trolley, blades,Taylormade TP. I don't have anything against those guys but they do get looked down upon by some of the older members.
Your opinions are much appreciated.
Thanks
Mike.

they used to make some sick shirts with the JL in the back in bright colors, theyve toned it down alot though. I dont think i will ever wear it seeing as i cant justify wearing a belt that costs 130 bucks on a golf course, when you can get a black one and a white one for less than that.

Although I am not a junior, I like the old JL stuff better than the new stuff. You have to be really thin to wear JL. Not everyone can pull it off. Tall and thin is how it fits. I do have two belts though. The one that looks like the Iron, and the one that has the JL emblem as the buckle. Your right they are expensive but im not married and can justify them (no wife or kids).

Here in the last month I have purchased a pair of pants and a shirt. I love the material and the fit but it is so expensive. I can only afford it after holidays. I personally don't care what people think of my white pants. I love them and thats all that matters to me.

I have a lot of JL stuff from the last three years or so and I think it is all great stuff. My only real complaint is that the nylon material of the pants really limit them to course only apparel. However, the cardigans, vests, and polos are all very versatile which is a testament to the quality of designer that Johan is. Also, their most recent shoe, the very classically styled one, is amazing in my opinion.
Bright or even white belts with funny colored pants -in golf- are very 2004. Look at Jesper's on course style now, he still wears bright colors occasionally but with a very classic skinny ties and vest. He surely is still the most stylish guy on tour. He wears a lot of greys and blacks with an occasional argyle, something anyone could pull off, I think.
I could talk about their stuff forever, go get their button up vest and cardigans, they are money.

Ive got a white slater belt and a black slater belt (JL logo ones), which I really like. The belts go really well even with jeans or wutever. If you look hard on ebay you can get real ones for a decent price but you have to keep your eyes pealed and know what is real and what is not. Im sure I get looks from the "pleated khakis 7 days a weak" guys at our club but I dont really care. I like their clothes because theyre different and have a fresh new look. Im sick of sleeves past the elbows, khakis, and brown with lil medallion belts, no offense to those who wear these things. I do think their older stuff was better overall but some of the new shirts are pretty cool too. The stuff is pretty expensive tho, choose wisely.

just get a white or black belt and then a sick belt buckle, the belts i wear have somewhat of a pattern to them, like fake gator or something like that, still black but a little different, and they dont cost $150 good enough for me but whatever floats your boat, i like to look good but id rather not have my clothes out play my game lol

JL stuff is great. Quality and style are very good, with the only real down side to everything being the price associated. Maybe finding it depending on where you are in the country, since actually trying their clothing on is almost necessary given the "euro" cuts.
A few things, it's rumored that their spring/summer line is going to be brighter than what we've seen the past few years. As well as a complete revamp of the line, primarily due to the constant similarities between JL and several other manufactures.
For you the consumer, it's a good thing since it gives you other options at, typically, a better price. I'd look into the Puma (who's designers are actually old JL staffers who helped during the collaboration between JL/Puma for the golf shoes), which has very similar cuts, colors, and styles at a fraction of the price. Otherwise, possibly the C&B or Sligo options.
Now, as for being looked down upon for the clothing. IMO, that's will usually happen when wearing brighter or non-traditional items. Bottom line, it comes down to you and your actions to determine what people are going to think. If someone is going to snub you for what you wear, do you really want to deal with them anyway?

Agreed. This is a thread about J. Lindeberg apparel, and I'm sure there are severl on this board who don't appreciate the clothing, but at least they're not throwing negative comments to the topic.
My .02, I love JL apparel. Nice look.

Always liked JL stuff. Ashworth has some really neat stuff coming out for fall. John Ashworth's return can really be seen in the stuff. No 100% poly either.

I have also noticed this, not sure why it has this reputation, some of the kids i have played with that wear that stuff have been jerks, but its not cuz of their belt. either way i like white belts, but i dont have that kind of money, so im still hunting for one.

I actually find the quality lacking...
Carry your bag for a round and you get the "pilling?" marks all over the shirt.
Shirts lose their shape over time.
I do like the styles, but for the cash I'll stick to the Hugo Boss/Burberry golf labels instead for "designer" gear.
May be a bit more, but the quality is there which I've found to be lacking with JL.
(Mind you I only have 4-5 JL shirts....but they ALL have the same problems!)
No thanks!

To me, J.Lindeberg has kind of turned into an Abercrombie/Hollister type brand for golf in my opinion. People who wear it think they look good, so good for them. Some people won't like it because it doesn't cost $40 for a pair of pants. Similarly, people who actually are really into clothes and fashion think it is incredibly played out. I think a lot of the designers at JL must think it's played out due to the more recent designs and colors they have been coming out with. Furthermore, from what I gather, the brand as a whole is looked down upon by fashion types in Sweden, much like Abercrombie is here in America. You should wear what you like though.

Some of the stuff, yes, but I don't think it's the whole brand. The brand just got over exposed, which is never good for a clothing company (I think the same thing happened to Hilfiger in the US? It's also happened for Burberry). 2-3 years ago, EVERYONE in Sweden had a hoodie or a sweatshirt with the big JL logo in it. Because people were getting tired of seeing the logo all over the place, JLindeberg has actually pulled some stuff out of the new collection, simple because it had too much going on/too many logos. The former owner of Peak Performance has taken over now, and Johan only focuses on the design part. They actually have some really nice stuff in their collections, and they've also made some very good changes, especially getting rid of all of the different lines and now only having, I think, 3 or 4 lines (JL, Johan by J.Lindeberg and the high fashion line only sold in Milano, London, New York etc.). Hopefully they'll be able to turn things around, and I think the new collection is a step in the right direction. The target group for JLindeberg isn't 15 year olds, so a move away from the super bright colors and big logos probably isn't a bad idea.

if u like it wear it. i personally like it but i look good in it.

u should wear whatever you want and if someone doesn't like it then show them what's up on the course and shut them up there. that's how i see it. though i am turning over into a puma geek and i'm interested to see what they have up their sleeves.

Within reason, I think it's solid gear. I have a few of there more conservative polos, and the fit is nice for us slimmer guys. Should you dress head to toe in J. Lindeberg? I'd say no, but I don't like Rory Sabatinni or Terrel Owens either. A.K.A: I don't like smack talkers. But if you want to dress in J. Lindeberg, I'd dip my toes in first. Get the pants or the polo, but don't be an a** and wear them together.
Have fun out there

JL is awesome. I have a white slater belt as well as a black slater belt. I also have three pairs of JL polyester shorts. One pair is hot purple, one pair is turquoise, and one pair is purple. I'd like to buy some JL tee shirts later this year. I can understand why some people don't find it appealing, but to me it is the classiest and hippest golf clothing available. Great colors and a great tight fit.

It just depends on what you like, but comparing JL to the overexposure of Abercrombie and Hollister just does not make sense to me. Those are companies known by the masses, whereas JL is hardly known by those outside of the golf/high fashion world. Maybe there is some overexposure in Sweden, but I do not think that is the case in the U.S.

J.Lindeberg is def my favorite brand for golfing. Currently I have 6 belts, a white slater and a brown slater, a black liner, a red bridger and a neon orange bridger, and a white milter future webbing. I have one pair of maroon pants, i think that their okay. I have 4 shirts, one is the lachlan with the logo across the back. I also have a visor and 3 pairs of wristbands, and 2 pairs of JL tours one is white/turquoise the other is white/fluo orange. I agree though, the older JL stuff is a lot better looking, the new stuff is just bland.

I personally like JL stuff, I have the white and black belts and a white shirt. I am thinking of getting the black shirt because the material is so nice and I love the way it looks. Im not one of those people who wears orange pants and a lime green shirt, but I do like the JL clothing.

Im around the same size, smaller chest, but good luck finding JL that fits... go up about two sizes from normal clothes... Even though I dont wear it, i still like the look of JL, and i do have their puma/JL shoes, which are more comfortable than most tennis shoes... Also if your looking for an alternative, check out Puma's golf apparel, very similar to JL and not as pricey, and more normal fitting

While I love the look of JL stuff, I have an issue with two things:
1) Quality. I have a Lachlan shirt and overall, I'm not happy with its durability. I have some adidas climacools that are 3 years old and look better than my jl that is only 1 year old.
2) Price. If I pay those prices, I expect better quality.
That being said, I look better in that shirt than any other in my closet. The Euro cut is great for leaner guys. However, I'm probably leaner because after paying for JL stuff, we have to eat beans and rice for a couple of weeks.
Anybody know of other designers who make shirts with a tighter Euro fit but prices that aren't cringe-inducing?
