I plan to attempt to qualify for the Illinois state am this summer, but haven't played any of the courses that are qualifying sites. Marengo Ridge and Bartlett Hills are my closest options. Has anyone played these courses? If so, can you describe them? I'd really appreciate a good synopsis of fairway tightness, and green difficulty. Second to that, I'd love to know how long these courses play. Not the yardage, but due to the design what kind of approaches are typical. I drive the ball about 270 average. How many 200+ par 3's are there from the back tees?

Thanks!

I've played both courses but only really remeber Barlett Hills because I played there every Saturday for two seasons. It's a pretty easy course that's not very long. No 3 is the only long par three plays just over 200 from the back tees. The course is a little hilly so you have some greens that are elevated. No 8 and 9 you can hit it ob if you go right off the tee other then that the course is kind of easy.

I remember Marengo ridge being pretty white open with in course OB. I played there when it first open so I don't really remeber to much.
