2 questions:
1. I will be taking the family and extended family to Myrtle Beach this summer. Does anybody know of any good Oceanfront, Pet friendly, houses to rent? Would need 3-4 bedrooms on the beach. Going late June.
2. Been awhile since I have been to Myrtle Beach. Will be playing 3 rounds - What are the must plays?

Thanks for suggestions.

Well, first I say that for the houses, go to Garden City Beach and rent one of the Dunes Realty homes. They're beautiful, and a great stay.

As far as must plays, can't really help you there because I actually don't even play when I'm down there, as me and my family go for pure relaxation.

i would try Caledonia golf and fish and True Blue, haven't played Caledonia, but i played true blue this past summer but i really liked it and i think they are both in golf digest top 100 you can play or something

but it depends on exactly where you stay because from north myrtle its probably an hour but if you say on the south end its only around the garden city area its only 15-20 i think

also try king's north, played there a few years ago and really liked it they have a few really neat holes out there

King's North is excellent, but if you're not heading into Little Rive/Conway/North Myrtle I can't say that I've played a ton of courses down further south on the strand.

Caledonia for sure. Barefoot Love and Dye courses. and the Dunes

I did hear that True Blue and Kings North were both must plays, I have never played either. Thanks for the suggestion on Dunes Realty, as long as were in the vicinity of Myrtle beach and we are right on the ocean the family will be pleased.

Caledonia and True Blue are two of the best. However, you must play International World Tour! 27 replica holes of some of the most famous in the world. 17 at Sawgrass, Amen Corner, St. Andrews, Pinehurst, and the list goes on. Most golfers will never have the chance to play any of these for real, so I think every golfer should give it a try. The holes really are almost carbon copies. Plus the staff there is so great. I've never been treated better at a course.

Caledonia is the spot my brother in-law just purchased a house on the course so the entire now has a place to sleep & play.

I go there once a year, and we ALWAYS rent. However, just for a few of us...we haven't gotten very large places. The best spot is to go to www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner), and search for myrtle / oceanfront. I've rented from there countless times and it's always een pleasurable. HAVE FUN!!

Have you ever been to Myrtle Beach? If you are going with your family (as you say you are)...I would go to far North Myrtle Beach of South of Myrtle Beach.....not a big fan of MB for a family vacation. We actually had reservations in MB, and cancelled them when we arrived....drove an hour north and found a much better place.
