I was bored last week so stopped into Golf Galaxy to look around. I walked into the putter ring and almost cried as I reviewed a sea of stupid looking red headed step putters just waiting to be dropped into the $25 and less junk club drum. Wow are they fugly ugly, my big concern is are these cheap evil looking smelly putters going to kill the grass on the greens of my favorite golf courses? Seriously, these are a bad joke right? And PLEASE don't give me this MOI crap; I will give the devil his due in drivers but putters....give a brother a break (and a dark pair of glasses and a bottle of booze!). I don't care if these putters come with a one putt guarantee I will NEVER use one...

No one has any business using MOI to sell putters..

I tired to take a few pictures but my camera cracked!

Beauty is as beauty does...

Beautiful bodies can shop at Victoria's Secret. Studio 54 catered to the beautiful people. For beautiful strokes and swings, there's plenty of beautiful putters and irons.

but KMART sells more women's clothes, I like to drink my beer at Joe's
and with high MOI every pitch, putt and drive goes
STRAIGHTER

Then my Bettinardi, Byron, Mills, Cameron, Slighter, Giannini, Seemore and Zen are all supermodels and the putters I strained my eyes on at the shop are candidates for THE BIGGEST LOSER! Maybe if they loose enough they can simply disappear!

I agree. There is a point where all of us will draw a line in the sand and say no way. As a Callaway guy I own a dozen or more Odyssey putters but I have drawn a line right here.........I would not allow this thing anywhere near me or my bag. Enough is enough and man this thing is pretty sad!

Hey you can put a piece of crap in a Gucci bag but its still a piece of crap. Just because you buy $5000 worth of putters doesnt make you a good putter. To each is own. That is why there are hundreds of putters. When the guy is playing you with that fugly putter and has 4 less putts per side then what??? Just an example. Dont always judge putting on how much the persons putter costs or looks.

OK, lets drop some names. I have some blades but they weren't getting the job done. My G-Field Pro Forged L (5/10), Gauge Design Eldik-M, Honma and Cameron Futura were improvements. Finally, I ordered my gamer - a super-high MOI Needle from Tom Slighter.

I wish I could average 28 putts per round with my Bettinard 44 Magnumi or my Bobby Grace Saving Grace Tour putter and its prototype, my Byrons, Tad Moore Damascus, Slighter Bellevue & Kirkland, Dave Billings' First Release M1A (#46) and Kevin Burns 1999 Master's Winner Ceremonial putter. But I can't.

Fortunately for me, my approach to choosing a secretary carried over to putters... I don't let what looks best get in the way of what works best.

But I bet you could use that thing to open a Corona when without an opener and in a bind.....

I think the point is I don't and won't loose to those putters because the cats that actually use those putters simply can't beat me; I'm 3 right now and I don't know any single digit handicaps that use anything more crazy than a Two Ball which in my mind is enough MOI for anyone (and a classic I might add). The rest of this stuff is all fugly marketing crap like I said. Oh yeah; my wife is hot and a superstar parent too but I would hate to see how ugly yours is with that kind of compromise but heck she gets the job done right! Moving on you might want to change your avatar then as well (pretty girls on the side I see; like to take high res pics of them too, you dog) and I love Tom but that thing is ugly too; I wouldn't flip my steaks with that putter sorry. Hey; Tom is a smart business man; why limit his business to the better golfers (ask him if he putts with that one)...

Handicap and putter choices have nothing in common. This thread has run it's course.
