Padraig needs to have the bad news broken that he didnt win The Open championship either..

Wow, that list is f*cked up.

Tiger is going to be angry when he realizes he is one major further from Jack's record!
Ace In The Hole
How could this be!!!! Does no one proof anything? You don't even have to be a golf fan to know some of the Major winners last year there were some pretty big stories there????
NikeDD59
Lol.. Rocco Mediate won a tournament while reporting for TGC that same event.

ironically theres a link at the bottom of the page for this article

"Zach Johnson's successful 2007 campaign will forever be remembered for just one thing -- winning the Masters."

Zach Johnson was remembered in 2007 for one thing, mainly his win at the Masters.

Sadly, no it isn't a misprint. It was on ESPN and the Golf Channel not too long ago about him getting to be the host of his own tournament.

Actually, the Timberlake thing is real as crazy as it sounds. crazy.gif

That list is nuts though, I really wonder how it came up with the list of defending champs . . .it had to be some kind of auto-fill programing thing that has not been fixed yet.

I sent espn an email letting them know about the problem yesterday and got this response back.

Yeah, and Mark Wilson held off Tiger at the PGA and Jon Mills was victorious at Oakmont. (Who is Jon Mills?)

Thanks! The ESPN list is fixed now, but that story on Jon Mills helped me figure out how they may have screwed it up in the first place. It said he was disappointed to miss the cut by one at Oakmont when Angel Cabrera birdied his last hole. I looked up about 6 or 7 of the defending champs they had on the bad list and they all missed the cut on the number. I am guessing that ESPN listed all these guys on the top of the list for those who did not make the cut and they mistakenly programed the schedule to pull that name instead of the top 72 hole score. (I am not sure how it chose the names for the tournaments without cuts though)

-- I was bored at lunch today if you could not tell!

If you look at the source code it looks like the names are just hard coded in. So someone probably just grabbed the cut list who doesn't know that much about golf and just typed them in. Probably an intern.

I'm still waiting on Les Miles and Jon Tenuta to report to Michigan as per ESPN Gameday's report...haha...the golf thing is just too funny!

Now that I think about it, I vaguely remember this from the US Open coverage...
Johnny Miller: Rolfy, who is this Mills - that swing is something even Craig Parry would puke at!

This is a classic golf thing. See Bing Crosby!
This is good for the game in my opinion. Bring more peopel to the event. JT loves the game and who cares if XYZ company is a sponsor or Justin? Doesn;t matter to the pros!
