I'll be in Tucson for a few days coming up. Hopefully, there will be enough time for 3 rounds. Any suggestions on where to play?

Gallery North (original) or either Ventana course will blow you away. Vistoso is also nice.

There are a plenty of munis to play that are basic golf but two courses I recommend are Del Lago and The Pines. They are on opposite sides of town of each other but both are good tests. Of course it depends on what is affordable to you. The courses up north, i.e. La Paloma, Vistoso, The Raven, The Gallery, are a little pricy this time of year for me so I tended to play those in the summer or if I got a great deal.

I played Vistoso Golf Club and it was fabulous! I wanted to play Arizona National but they had a tournament there the day I wanted to play. I was told that the Gallery was awesome, but it's private and you might need a little help getting on. Too many good choices to pick from for three rounds. I played Vistoso based on the picture in the phone book of all things and it was way better in person than it looked in the ad. Play it in the afternoon if you can...the desert colors are more visible and all the critters come out late in the day. As soon as you finish you'll be ready to go right back to the first tee.

I don't care what you must do in order to afford it, but you MUST play The Raven

No, it's not 3 hours away, thats probably why I'm not the first to mention it in this thread.

Played Ventana (Canyon) and Vistoso 2 weeks ago. Ventana was fabulous in all respects - scenic, great condition, interesting and challenging holes. I will definitely go back there. Vistoso was a throw away. The course was in very poor shape and pricey, and I really didn't like the tricked up holes (trees, etc. in the middle of the fairway, etc.).
