I am in the market for a new putter for next season. I currently play an Odyssey DFX 2-Ball Blade but my new putter will be an anser style. I am not looking to spend a lot of money and the putter will be bought used since I seem to put the same with $30 vs. $300 putters. Also, I like a solid feeling when I putt and I like a mid-heavy weight putter (the 2-Ball that i'm playing now is really light).

What cheap putters would you recommend?

Ping Karsten Series is under $100 and most of the Headweights are 340G. There is also the Ping Karsten i series with an insert they are a little more but if you prefer the insert, Ping made this insert firm not soft. Plus you can order them with your length and Lie so it is fit to you. I also like the look of the Taylor Made Rossa series with the ASGI that puts a nice roll on the ball. Those run about $150.

Thanks for the suggestions, anyone else?

Ping G2 Anser
basically a Karsten without the cavity sticker (which i think is nicer)

by 'solid feeling' i assume you're looking at something without an insert?

I second the Ping motion. If you don't mind used try an anser3

If you are willing to go a little older, you could go with the Tad Moore Pro Series. Great feeling putters with a VERY solid feel and no insert

If you don't mind me asking, why the change?

I will second (well 3rd it) the Karsten Anser. The G2 Anser is quite nice as well, but the one I saw used was $69.99 (in great shape though), but the Karsten is $89.99 new and I liked the grip better. To each his own, but if going used, I would go Ping because they don't ding up.

Between the G2 Anser and the Karsten Anser what are the differences and which do you guys prefer?
kitsoasis
i'd choose G2 because there isn't a sticker
although the sticker is supposed to help the feel somewhat??
i haven't tired the Karsten so i can't say
madi05
well i have owned both and to me the new karsten felt a bit more solid almost like a carbon(i think it is because of that sticker maybe, lol versus my g2 felt more like a cast usually does , but i dont own either anymore because i have better results with my odyssey for a while now

hope this helps
