Heading to Phoenix Mid January and while I likely may not be able to resist shelling out the big bucks to play the $$ oldies but goodies ( Boulders,Troon etc) I'd love to hear your favorites for must plays around the valley.
If I can avoid $175.00-$200.00 a day that would sure be nice too.
Happy Holidays Ladies and Gentlemen.

One of my favorites when I worked at the TPC was Wee-Ko-Pa, beautiful no houses just scenic. Kierland is nice for the price. The TPC just reopend their Desert Course as the Champions course and everything I have heard has been great, and the price is right around $100 I believe to due Scottsdale restrictions. Going out to see the FBR, should get some good WITB pics. Most deals will be later in the day which means you might not finish. You can find some on the internet if you are a single and willing to wait until close to the day you want to play. They hope to fill every spot, even if it means a discount. Hope that helps!

For the price I like Las Sendas the best and ASU Karsten as well. Talking Stick is also a nice facility and I don't think as pricey as the higher end courses.

tom111869 has it about right. My personal preferences would be to substitute Longbow in mesa instead of Dove Valley, Raven at South Mountain for Talking Stick and I could spend rest of the year on those courses as listed. (and in fact probably will)
Plug in to golfnow.com for discount rates if you can plan days to times you can to play.

I'll second the golfnow.com they have a fair amount of area coursed signed up. Fortunately for me, my peak season rounds are played as a guest at Desert Highlands. have a great trip.

Thanks Fellas. Good info.
I had ran across the GOLFNOW web site and saved it in my Favorites. It's not surprising that it appears most all of the discount tee time services work on last minute unfilled time slots left unbooked within the day prior or a couple of days prior to the play date. My concern is considering that it is prime season in mid January out there that I might have trouble getting on the better courses and end up scrambling for a decent tee time and course at the last minute. I guess that's the risk one takes looking for a "bargain" .
Happy Holidays,
Brad
