So I'm planning on going down to Atlanta area b/t Dec. 21-24.

Looking to play w/ my family on 22nd and 23rd.

Suggestions will be appreciated.

I played down there a few weeks ago, in Dacula (which is ~ 20 miles NE of Atlanta). Played at Reunion & it was pretty good. I've also played at Chateau Elan..pretty decent also.

Check out The Frog. It's in Villa Rica, which is about 20 minutes west of Atlanta. Fazio course, lots of elevation changes, at a decent price.

Also, Bear's Best was also very enjoyable for me. They took 18 of Jack's best holes from around the world, and plopped them in between the hilly terrain. They set you up with a forecaddy per foursome who helps you with yardages and local knowledge. The course is also one of my favorites.

Have fun!

In Atlanta must play The Golf Club of Georgia. Best two courses in Atlanta by far. It is private though but your club pro might get you on if he calls on your behalf.

Atlanta is a big city, so it depends on where you are staying. If Conyers is on the side where you are staying.....go to Cherokee Run (they have a website). Great track.

I agree Bears best is nice and a somewhat easy going course, as far as food just cruise down to Peachtree drive and you'll find a little of everything.

Where in ATL are you going to be? +2 on the Frog nice track. I just got back from playing Crystal lake, not in too bad of shape with our drought but the greens were very nice. It is nice having the GPS screens in the carts.

Let us know where you will be around the city. Another vote for the Frog, North up 75 is Woodmont, Bradshaw Farms, Bridgemill. Trophy Club of Atlanta is up in Alpharetta. Check out www.LMTT.com for some good deals and a better idea of some courses around the city.

Chateau Elan, and take the winery tour while you are there.

I live north of Atlanta on I-75, and play at Cartersville Country Club. I would definitely recommend, like so many others, playing at the Frog, Phone # 770.459.4400. It will consistently be in the best shape. Bermuda fairways will be dormant, but the greens are bent and always in good shape. It also is right in front of you, so you can tell where you need to hit it.

Happy Holidays,

Ty

Orchard Hills in Newnan is a great course. It is about a 30 min. ride down I-85 South from downtown ATL. You can check somewhere like www.golflink.com and do a course search for the area you want to play in too.
