Work, save your money. Trade in your old stuff. Get the new stuff in the bag & the trunk of your car before the wife notices.... cheesy.gif

To be honest, I don't change much when it comes to equipment.

When I do get something new, it's such a rarity that the cost of it coupled with the frequency of new purchases probably works out at a few pence per day over the last 20 years... And a lot of my kit is blagged from friends and costs me nothing.

Really, I deserve to be ostracised on the boards for my distinct lack of 'ho-ing'

i'll be 15 in january, and lucky for me, i'm friends with the people who work at my club. So i can be able to get a job!! woot

No matter what your job pays you ( or your allowence from your parents ), if you prioritize your spending you could get the equipment you want.
If it's more important for you to go out with friends to entertain during weekends instead of saving a few months of the bar tap and restaurant bills for a new set of club. Difficult choice.
One time I even figured out at 20 cups of tall Caffe Latte per month will equal to over $700 per year.
Few dollars here and there seemed to be pocket change, but it all adds up quickly.

I'm saving up for a new putter. Only eat once a week now. Who needs food when you can have shiny new clubs. LOL

The congratulations of your playing partners as you hole that 4-footer on #18 will drown out the sound of a rumbling stomach...

That was your problem, you ate too much.

LOL so that's what's it's gonna be like ... smile.gif
I'm graduating from university this year ... most of my gear has been funded through combined christmas gifts (ask mom & dad to buy one present together with granny and grandpa :-)), saving the cash earned with working summerjobs and once in a while winning stuff; lot's of golfshop gift-certificates smile.gif

We'll see, my girlfriend complains a lot about the whole golfing thing, but she always buys me golf-stuff for birthdays etc. so i think she knows what it means to me.

Good man.

I remember when a new sand wedge meant a summer of lawn-mowing and cleaning/polishing/waxing cars...

And the car would be subject to a parade ground-esque inspection by my father before the nod of approval was forthcoming.

fruits of labor taste much sweeter.
Some of you would disagree, but if you're not fortunate to feel this way ever in your life; you're missing a great pleasure life has to offer.

Caddy. It's easy money. I make around $40-50 in a round that usually takes4 - 4 1/2 hours + tips for carrying bags to the bag drop, getting food for the members, helping the people in carts while still caddying for my member, double bagging, lady's day(tuesday) , and taking carts back to the pen. I love it when members have guests because they tip so much!

This is how I break it down:
$40 for my round ($80 if you double bag)
$10 for bringing up bags
$10 for helping 1 member in a cart per round
-----------------------------------------------------
= at least $60 in 5 hours, now just work 5 days a week and you get $300 then multiply by 12 weeks in the summer

Or if you work on a tournament day( 2 rounds in on day) you make +$150 biggrin.gif I love my job
