Saw this on the internet and thought it was interesting statistic.

QUOTE
The LPGA Tour rolled out a playful statistic this year, keeping track of how much a player would have earned by finishing at even par (Eve N. Par) in all official events.

Eve N. Par would have finished with $605,121 to finish at No. 24 on the LPGA money list.

Apply that to the PGA TOUR, and the statistics get skewed, for Eve N. Par would have won the Masters and the U.S. Open. Total earnings would have been $4,650,492 to finish at No. 5 on the PGA Tour money list, playing in 43 tournaments.

Throw out the majors and replace them with opposite-field events (when applicable), and the total would have been $1,780,875 to finish 48th on the money list.

Thats real cool. Just be a consistant solid player. Dont have to go out and shoot -12 every tournament and shoot 62's to impress.

Just nice solid level par rounds will make you plenty of money lol.

Aside from the Major's, I wonder how many cuts would have been made/missed at even par? Seems like the cut is always under par every week.

I did a quick run through on the 2007 schedule. Even par would have made 25 cuts on the PGA Tour this year(including majors).

littlepingman, did you tally up what the winnings would have totaled in those 25 cuts made? Enough to keep your card?

No. I just did a quick count. Don't have the time to get that involved with it here at work.

If you take out the 4 majors, that would be 21 cuts. I would guess it would be pretty tight as far as making the top 125, because the Major's pay so much more. I would think the top 150 would be a good bet. Good info though, thanks!!

Of course, even par at Oakmont this year was like shooting -15 elsewhere.....so the stat's a bit skewed. When you have a 288 yard par 3 they're just trying to make it artificially hard - based on average driving distance on tour only about half of players should even have been able to hit the green.

The rest of the world calls that a par 4.
