We all know that you can fix a ball mark on the green, but not a spike mark from a person's shoe. Do you guys think that rule should be changed or not?

no, just like we all play from where the ball lies.
If we could imporve the condition of the putting path, then, why don't we also improve the lie in the fairway?

This has been an issue for The Tour's due to their light policy on spikes. IMOP, pace-of-play has been the main defense in the other camp. Soft spikes have greatly reduced the frequency of spike marks at the club level. I don't see this rule changing anytime soon I think you might see a mandatory soft spike requirement at some point.

Ball mark are not going to be all along the putting path, it occupies spots not along the whole or most of the putting path.
Say I'm repairing the spike marks, who's to tell me that I could not press down along the putting path all the way to the hole? That would open up dispute from all sides.
Remember, most of the rules in golf had stand the test of time and been fire proven through the centuries, to change a rule may take greater effort than amending the Constitution.
Many rules would change in the future, it has to, but not to make the paly easier.

With the advent of soft spikes, I can't remember the last time I saw a spike mark.

The real problem with the metal spikes were the length, and people not picking up their feet when walking.

I can see it now, some wiseguy tapping down "spike marks" on a line every inch of the way from his ball to the hole. The the endless arguments and rulings about what constitutes a spike mark.
