Hello all, My first post here. I'm still new to the game and was wondering about the scoreing. In stroke play are you suppost to stop counting after you have a tripple boogy or count ever stroke until you make it in the hole ?Or is it something you decide at the start of the match? Thanks

Until it is done....

But if you are scoring for yourself in a handicap round (non-turrny) you have a highest score based on your handicap.

As cap217 said in stroke play you count them all until you get it in the hole.

Playing stableford or the like you can stop when you cant score a point dependent on your handicap. If you have 2 shots on a hole, you can stop when you are three over par and still not in the hole. Or if you you only get the 1 shot stop when you are two over and still not in the hole.

Doesnt do much for your game but speeds up play

Yes I am all for speeding up play. The last three weekends we have been stuck behind fourballs that were gambling and playing everything out, the first nines have been 2 and 3/4 hours+ . Time to organise a new tee time!!!!!!!!!!!
