I have attached the grip and feel a slight vibration on long putts or putts struck thin. I did not punch the bottom screws into the shaft; could this be the problem?? Any other recommended fixes??

Thanks,
Chris

PS - I have been very happy with this grip. I had one of my best putting rounds ever last weekend. I find this grip much easier to use than the 2 Thumb; I never could get comfortable with my hands on that grip (anyone who has used it will know what I mean).

The vibration is common when the screws aren't all the way in. Plus, technically the grip does not conform to USGA Rules if the screws aren't all the way in. I suppose you could wedge something between the grip and the shaft, like little pieces of masking tape, but that too would be illegal.

Have you tried any of the other jumbo grips? Tiger Shark or the like. I am interested in getting a bigger grip and have no idea what to choose.

I have not. If I didn't like this grip, my next two ideas where the Tiger Shark or a belly putter. I have a Billy Mayfair putting stroke (take the ball outside and cut across), and I am trying anything to help. So far, the SuperStroke has helped. Now if only I can eliminate the pesky vibration.

I was afraid it was the screws. Thanks for the reply. Regarding the rule, why is it any different than the screws on a TM driver??

It's not the screws themselves that are the issue, it's the issue of easy adjustability. The first run of the Super Stroke was known as the Fatso and it didn't have the screws, so in theory you could twist the grip mid round if you decided you wanted the flat part in a different area. Because of that it was declared illegal. So the screws are there to stop that issue. They could solve it all by making the grip slip on the grip slip on like other grips, but I don't think they have any plans to do that.

With the drivers that have screws, the weights aren't considered easily adjustable because you have to have a special tool to do anything with them.

I recently made the switch to the superstroke and I am experiencing the vibrations. All screws are tight and I did pierce the bottom screws. Any update on what the cause of the vibration may be? Thanks

Two things I have noticed when trying the Superstroke. First the shaft fits loose inside the bore of the grip; think under the left hand. I pierced the shaft and tightened the other 4 screws very tightly. A piece of rubber in the end of the grip would solve this just not sure how to get it in there correctly. Second, the grip causes an awful shaft resonance when used with all metal putters. This is not a problem for putters that have face inserts like Odyssey. Ping G5i series is OK but the resonance is noticeable. On a YES! and Ping Anser it was completely unbearable; just horrible.

I really like the grip but do not use it because of the above two reasons. I think the Big Lite might be a better choice as it is installed like a normal grip and would eliminate the above two problems.

I just returned my Super Stroke. It helped me a great deal, but the putter face keeps going offline. You may not notice it until you use a level on the putter face. The vibration is normal on long putts. I ended up ordering a Tiger Shark Fatso grip. I tried the Big Lite grip and it's way too lite. i personally think the Tiger Shark Fatso grip is the right balance.

Did you "mount" it. To "mount" it, you turn it upside down before screwing in the screws, and tap the grip against the ground. You should hear and feel the grip lower about 1/2". I would suggest you loosen the screws and mount it, if you have not.

Also, you may want to check out the www.BigLiteGrip.com. Woody Austin is currently using 1. It weighs 80g, so about 1/3rd of the Superstroke.

Also, www.EnergyGrip.com is also coming out with an oversize grip. I think it is available already. Looks like the regular SuperStroke, and feels like the Pro-Line SuperStroke. Much easier to install though. It is self-centering, which the SuperStroke is not.

When I had my Super Stroke...before puting it on, I put two layers of masking tape on the shaft to tighten it up a bit before sliding it on. Then I went through the procedure of piercing the shaft. All worked well for me except the skin of the grip seemed to slide on me. I don't know if anyone else has had that problem but I didn't like it. I actually mentioned to my playing partners...you go through all that business of piercing the shaft to make it legal and the actual grip skin moves on you.

The only larger grip I'm now experimenting with is the Big Lite. I love the weight on it because it's not so much of a counter balance like some of the other big grips.

I've got the BigLite grips too. All my friends and customers who have them love it too.

I have the 2 thumb on a heavyputter and it is working great for me. $14 was an easier way to go then what they want for the superstroke.

Might be a bit late posting on this but out of interest I used Superstroke and experienced a really poor feel when fitted to my Scotty Circa 62 which before had felt just great. Also found the surface of the grip not quite tacky enough for my liking.
Previously I had tried the 2 Thumb and discarded it because I was uncomfortable with the hand position but when I removed the Superstroke from the Scotty I decided to try the 2 Thumb on the Scotty with the flat side facing forwards/backwards instead of being on top. I have used it like that (with the 2 Thumb logo facing forward) with my normal right below left hand position (I am RH) and I am putting very much better particularly on short putts. I would loke to try one of the other oversize grips such as BigLite but guess they are not available in UK as yet.

I can say I have the superstroke and have not experienced any of the grip or face sliding at all. Or vibration for that matter. And how does the putter face keep going offline? Did you pierce the shaft with the screws? Or are you talking during installation?
