I have my eye on another staff bag to add to the collection however it has the pro's name on the front (It is NOT fred funk secret.gif ). I was wondering how easy it is to have the stiching removed from the front and where is best to get something like that done?

many thanks, kind regards harry

You should be able to find an embroidery shop near where you live.

When they take it out, the outline may still appear from the name though, depends on what type of material the bag is made of.

Nothing too hard for them to do though, and not too expensive.

many thanks for the reply,

this is a pic of the front of the bag:

Do you reckon it will leave a noticable outline?

why do want to remove it? are you going to rub the signature off as well? keep it and sell it when he makes it big time!!

I have been looking for the bag for ages and have been really wanting it signature free however i have never seen one that has not had a pro's name on it.

No offense to the guy but Andrew Oldcorn has probably had his 'day'. Nice bag though, I was at the 2005 Open. You could probably undo the sticking yourself with a pair of sewing or nail sissors but it's probably better to get it done professionally as its relativly trivial. I'd imagine that would leave a mark however as the stitching would have left holes and also the material below will have been kept from sun exposure and other wear.

I would leave it on, personally. The guy was a Volvo PGA champion!

The panels on Taylor Made Staff Bags are removable...just get another panel.

Im almost 100% sure that will leave a pretty noticeable outline... i removed stitching from a shirt and some other random stuff before.. and the part that leaves the outline is where the stitching goes into the fabric and pulls it tight and stretches and whatnot... that is leather... which means after it has been in a certain position for a long time... i.e stretched from the stitching... it will stay that way for a long while...

This would be simple for a good auto apolstry shop to do, they just take that peice out and sew in another peice. I have had this type of thing done on many bags by some local mexican auto apolstry place, I can't even pronounce the name, but they should all be able to do something this easy, and usually cheap too. Plus you get to keep the old piece. I got a new pocket for about $15 once.
