I am planning on playing two rounds on sat oct 20th at shenadoah and kaylut (spelling?). I know the weather is getting colder and there is the issue of frost in the mornings but is it realistic to play two rounds this time of year?

Right now i have tee times at 8:30 and 2:40. I am trying to bump up the 2:40 time but i am more worried about getting the first round in early enough to get the second 18 in.

Anyone from the area that can elaborate would be great. Worse comes to worse i can always just gamble at the casino with my friends (that is what we are doing on the course anyway).

that 2:40 tee time is pushing it. if you don't get caught behind someone you would probably finish but I would move that up to around 1:30-2:00 just to be safe.

The low Friday night is 58 so there should be no frost. Sunrise around 7:20 and Sunset at 6:15. The 2:40 time may be pushing it. I live about 10 minutes from there and the weather has been really nice this fall. I have played Shenandoah but not Kaluhyat. Shenendoah was fun. Have fun. Try the Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner if you can. Expensive but oh so good!

Also from what I hear, you may be able to cruise around Kaluhyat because it does not get as much play as Shenendoah. Its supposed to be the 2nd toughest course in NY behind Bethpage. They sell balls at the halfwayhouse. (Its an old-school 9 out 9 in format.) Of course this could all be Urban Legend. There are lots of local legends about the difficulty of Kaluhyat.

You're from NY, so I would squeeze in as much golf as possible, no matter what the cost.

You should be familiar with the weather around here, nowadays, there is no more Spring and no more Autumn!

We jump from Summer right into Winter with no warning, and from Winter right into Summer, again, WITH NO WARNING!

Before you know it there will be Nor'easters left and right, your sticks will be in the garage and you'll be dying for a round.

Play both. If you gotta walk off the second round on 15-16 due to darkness, so be it. Or try to bump up the tee-time, but regardless...PLAY BOTH ROUNDS!

I'm about 15 minutes away from there.

Finished up last night at 6:40 and visibility was awful that last 2 holes.
