This was on the front page of the New York Times this morning. Kind of interesting.

If it doesn't work to click on it, just try to copy and paste.

Is there a way to send some old club and usd golf balls to these kids learning from the man?
If it does not cost an arm and a leg, I'm willing to explore the possibility.

Very interesting story

One thing you could do is contact the military times and see if you could get a listing for the PAO for whatever base is near there. Explain what you want to do, and they could probably help you. Then the shipping would be alot less as it would be going to a APO address.

Wow, amazing.

I'm never complaining about a muni again though.

We should send him our crappy balls in our shag bag and replace them. It would be cool if the guy just found a box of about 400 balls in the mail one day.

check out the website for the course it has a better one than a lot of American courses. http://kabulgolfclub.com/index.asp they have the fees and downloadable scorecard there. in the EXPERIENCE link i found this as a description for the only water hazzard on the course : Water hazards - You’ll find one of these on the course although it's dry. So use your imagination and treat it in the normal way. If your ball lands in it, even though you could actually play the shot, it’s deemed unplayable and a penalty and drop must be taken. Look at it like this, you can retrieve your ball without getting wet. What more do you want? why dont we get a GOLFWRX trip up and go play the course?

Dang, I would think it would be cheaper to walk a round in 120 degree heat in the summer. 15$ is just absurd. They do however have good prices on caddies and check out the cost of lesson price.

Mr. Abdul’s students became caddies, two for each player: one to carry the clubs and a swatch of artificial turf for shots from the rocky fairways, and the other to stand downfield to keep an eye on the ball.

LOL

I wonder if Bermuda grass will grow there? biggrin.gif

Did it state what type of grass was there before it got blown up?

I too saw this article in the NYT and became quite curious.

At first I saw just the photo slideshow and I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it humorous, but after reading the story I really thought the whole thing was amazing.

The website actually seems somewhat advanced for the club itself, which is kind of surprising.
