Going to be in the San Diego area, La Jolla, and want to play some golf. I am considering Torrey North, the cheaper one as i have friends who aren't into golf as much as i am, and another course. Looking to keep it at or under 100, preferably the latter.

If anyone could make suggestions for courses that are within the area or within an hour's drive i would appreciate it.

there are plenty of courses. Coronado is a great course that is really affordable(~$30) during the week. There is also Carlton Oaks and the overseeding should be finished up soon. Go to golfnow. com and check out the deals. There are alot of good deals to be had. Salt creek in chula vista is good (links type course) and it you really want to play a good course there is redhawk in temecula that just held the California state open. partytime2.gif

Also... just try doing a search as this has been discussed here a couple of times within the last couple of months.

General question, on which forum are golf courses discussed? I figured this would be the best forum of the many in terms of visibility since i didn't see a dedicated courses/travel section, which kinda surprised me.

Coronado is the hidden gem of San Diego county. It is an old-style parkland course. Very playable and inexpensive. Nice views.

check out greenskeeper.org

they have all the courses listed in SOCal by county and also are pretty up-to-date on course maintenance and all.
good luck.
