I agree, no Berman, but the good news for me is that ESPN is in HD, USA is not. So now I'll get all 4 rounds in HD. Sweet!

Oh my lord. WHY???? ESPN has to be the worst golf coverage I have ever watched. Announcers that don't know jack, horrible cameras. UGH. The masters wont be the same. At least Berman wont be doing it. That would be disgusting.

Mike Tirico has always bugged me. Monday night football is worse. I hope he doesn't bring his pal Chris Berman. I'd have to turn the TV on mute and listen to the radio of Ron Santo broadcast the Cubs and put Dave Loggins - Augusta on autorepeat on the stereo.

So would you rather it still be on USA? I don't think ESPN is all that bad. Being a football lover I like Chris Berman, but I'll agree he doesn't fit the mold of a golf announcer. But Mike Tirico is good. And I don't understand how you could complain about the cameras. The entire first 2 day coverage will be in HD. Not to mention they are doing a preview show the day before. Kind of like NFL pregame shows. I like it!

Just as long as Jim Nance says, "it all started on Thursday". Can you imagine what the chef is thinking at Augusta if Berman is coming...."Show him where the Azaleas are, you know they are ripe"...

High Definition probably drove this deal. USA has not shown any signs of moving to HD, so I have a feeling the folks on Magnolia lane wanted their course portrayed in the best media.
Cheers,

Ah, I was in error then. I get DISH HD, and USA HD is not available on there yet. Maybe it was the simple driver of $ then.
