I've just been invited to a round of golf with my boss. He is a member at both Conway Farms and Skokie Country Club, and is leaving it up to me to pick which one I would like to go to. I need to decide in an hour or two. I am not the greatest player and so the narrow fairways of Skokie scare me more than a little, but I also know nothing about Conway Farms. If you had to pick one to play at, which would you go with?

Thanks!

Skokie C.C. has a lot of history behind it. Unfortunately not familiar with Conway farms.

I vote for Conway. Skokie is a vry nice tree lined old style course and Conway is a newer Fazio designed open style course

Thanks guys, looks like Conway it is.

PLAY SKOKIE! I have played both and imo Skokie is much better especially with the recent work they have done there.

Conway farms is used for US Open qualifiers and is a great course. Your boss is the man with these memberships.

I have not played Conway and I must say that I am not a fan of Tom Fazio golf courses.

I HAVE played Skokie and it is a classic that was nicely retouched back to its roots by architect Ron Prichard. If you like old style classic courses with good shot values and a nice set of greens and greens complexes then you will like Skokie.

Conway Farms is very nice. Maybe you will run into Luke Donald when your there smile.gif He was there last time I played there along with Dale Tallon and a few other Blackhawks. Whichever course you chose I'm sure it will be a treat either way smile.gif

Play the course with fewer trees.

The leaves are a fallin'....

I see that the poll has gone back to dead even, but I think I made the better choice in Conway, at least for now. With my level of game, I'll be happier playing from the other fairway than lost in the scenic, historic trees. Also, I don't really have much shotmaking ability, and while I'm sure Conway is far from easy, I don't want this to be too hard on me. While I don't mind looking unskilled in front of the boss, I don't want to hold up his game and get him upset.

Thanks for all the input guys.

jcigars: I'll have to go study some pictures now of Luke Donald so I know what I'm looking for. smile.gif

wedgetoafoot: Yes, he is the man. Actually, he's president of the company and so is a step or two removed from being my direct boss, but "boss" was just the easiest way to put it. He also owns and flies planes. ohmy.gif
