I've certainly played better courses, but the history and everything behind this place makes it incredible. We got the chance to play the Ryder Cup cup ourse...man, some of those holes were absolutely ridiculous. The 11th and 12th holes had to be a nightmare in major tournament play.

A really really neat experience. I got some pictures, but the day was kind of gloomy, so they don't look so hot.

Those are great pictures. What an experience it must have been to play The Country Club. I have a friend who played there this year as well and seemed to agree with your comments in regard to the course, good not great golf course. Although, he had just played Pine Valley the month before for four days if that explains anything.

It's a beautiful course. My High School was in the same league as Brookline and when we played them in away golf matches we played there (Twice for free!!!). It was about 2 years after the Ryder Cup was there and when we were putting on the practice green before the match our players were saying stuff like "Man Tiger might have putted here". Our town didn't even have a course (and our "home course" was terrible) so everyone was kinda in awe. You literally feel the history while you're playing, I kept thinking of Ouimet and The US team. I wish I could have taken a picture of the members faces' when they saw a School bus pull up in the lot and a bunch of High Schoolers in wrinkled golf shirts with mish mash equipment get off the bus. I would love to play it again someday (one of the few times I'd like to be back in High School haha). Thanks for sharing your pictures, they bring back memories.

That's an absolutely beautiful course, hopefully one day.

I would love to play there someday. That course looks a little quirky, before the day of the "modern golf architect". aside from Francis Quimet, thats what makes it so special!
