Vince C.'s replacement is a tool. Where did they find this guy? They couldn't find anybody else? Where were they looking, tools R us? Hiroshi is my sleeper pick. That Matt E. looks to have a nice steady game. I love some of the nicknames they have.

For some reason I thought they were playing for a PGA tour exemption not an exemption to the Wachovia tournament. But then again that would not be fair to all that have to go through Q school and the Nationwide tour.

I agree that Hiroshi could be a good pick to bring it home. But it's early and anything can play out. This group looks like they have all the shots but how will they hold up under Big Break pressure? This one looks to have it all. Group antagonist Anthony could be a spoiler, but my sleeper is Matt Every.

I don't think Every would be considered a sleeper. He was all everything in college - including national player of the year in 2006, a Walker Cupper, low amateur at the US Open in 2005. In his 1st full year as a professional he has a 68.50 stroke avg. on the Hooters Tour with 6 top 10s in 10 events and made the cut at the Colonial. If anything I think it could be argued he would be the favorite.

Where did the guy come from? What has he done? I mean, we couldn't get Rick Smith back? We needed RIck Schwartz.

I played with Hiroshi in So Fla (he was buds with my roomie).....he is a sweet ball striker and hits it a long way, especially with the irons. His putting was one area he was a little shaky, but other than that he is really solid. Won the Golden Bear tour money list in 01' and 02'. The GBT tour in the late 90's early 2000's had Briny Baird, Brett Wetterich, Brian Gay, Steve Marino, Kevin Johnson, Patrick Sheehan, Ken Duke, and many others that have gotten their nationwide and PGA tour cards.....
But I do agree with the above posters....this is going to be a good Big Break in that there will be some good golf winning this. These guys are extremely strong players.
How about captain insano? (that was classic, a former wrestler Agent Orange in on the BB

Loads of talent featured this season. Interesting cast will make for an interesting show, for sure, but remember, some of the "elimination rounds" end up being goofy golf where luck can keep a guy in it. Some of the props are ridiculous and don't reveal the best player. As you all know, in "real golf," a strong part of your game (for instance, putting) can make up for lots of mistakes and keep you in a tournament.
I wish they'd just play but then that would be a qualifying tournament, wouldn't it? It certainly wouldn't make for as good of theatre.

I agree. I'd like to see them play "real" golf, like a hole or two. The cream can rise to the top, but if a person hits one unlucky shot their out, even it he is the better golfer.

Rick Schwartz is kind of “off” isn’t he?? But, because his day job is a Fantasy Football reporter for Yahoo it all makes since now. My first guess was that he worked with Public TV, or that he was a traffic reporter from a small district network out of the Mid West.
Stephanie Sparks continues to be a great asset to the show.

Her commentary is solid and at times profound. I’m glad that the GC picked her up again for this season. But like the Fed Ex cup a little “tweaking” can make it that much better….. My vote is that Stephanie wears a thong bikini during the elimination rounds.

This would boost the anticipation for the viewer towards the end of the show and would make watching the Big Break that much more enjoyable.

Just my Opinon mind you…..

A show like this has so much potential, but the golf channel just keeps it borderline unwatchable by their bad decisions.
I wish they'd follow the Contender style - actually have running matches between everyone. Play 18 holes a day with a challenge at the end. It's ridiculous that some guy you could beat 10&8 in a match can advance over you because his flop shot clears a wooden board by 2 inches. That stuff should decide who plays who, or just be for prizes or small advantages during matches.
The show does a very poor job of identifying who the best player is.

Wow. Finally caught the first show.
I'm speechless regarding the new host. Complete tool, zero presence, monotone droll of a voice, usually looks uncomfortable whenever the camera's on him.
How does this kind of mistake get made? What idiot is running that show? How can you have a show where you give away two cars, a PGA exemption and thousands of dollars and get a complete zero to be the host?
Unbelievable.
Just get a well-liked semi-famous touring pro who retired or something if you're that desperate. He almost makes the show unwatchable.

He left because he wanted more money than they were willing to give him. He felt like he should be paid more than anyone on TGC because he was the "star", and they refused.

Finally got around to watching the "first" BB last night as well and i would have to say that maybe Vince was right! I never really thought the host could have that much of an impact on the show, since the players actually are the show, and the host and co-host are really delivering commentary. Maybe TGC was thinking the same, and boy were we wrong! Vince was a little dry, but inviting! Watching this guy really makes me feel uncomfortable, it was like watching a car wreck in slow motion, over and over again. His hand gesters when he talks comes off as, i need something to do with these hairy meat hooks, but what?, it looked like he had on fur mittens! This guy comes off as, i'm in charge, do what I say, or go home, and if you don't like it i'll smack you with my furry hands!
