What club dirrectly affects your scoring more than any other club in your bag?
Golfchicago
I'd probably have to go with the putter. There have been days I've hit the ball sideways and I"ve made everything in sight and still shot under. In fact a stranger I played with took some parting shots at my ball striking vs my scoring that day. What are you going to do? I had a hard time with this one because I was thinking maybe the driver. If I play a very difficult course, the driver might be the more important club because I'm almost guaranteed a bogie if I miss the fairway at some of the tougher courses.

for me not one any club but my mind.If I can just focus and let the bad shots go and stop worrying about my equipment, grips, balls, etc. and just PLAY damnit crazy2.gif

definitely the putter... only club you use each and every hole!!!
MrParr1Noid
This is really a tough one for me.....It'd either be the "Speed Stik", "The Perfect Club", or "TempoMaster", all of which deserve praises and accolades. biggrin.gif

OH!! you mean the one that you really use the most? Or the one that's the most valueable? fool.gif

For serious, it would either be the putter or the driver. At my stage of the game, if I can't get off the tee I'm sunk right off the bat, putting can at least compensate for alot of other failures. bye.gif

PUTTER! When I'm putting well I know I'm going to make a good score. I can hit in trouble and know I can play the percentage shot and let the putter do the work. My putting is usually very good and more than makes up for poor driving. If you have a putter you can trust it breathes confidence through your whole game.

putter no doubt. I can't count how many rounds poor ball striking has been erased by great putting

Easily it's my putter. I can be driving lousy, but if I can get it on and one putt, it's going to be a decent round. Since I've added the Del Mar to my bag, I've been putting my butt off and with the worst round being an 80, I owe it all to my putter.
distantfromyou
for whatever reason i seem to be a good putter. so it's the 58 wedge. when i dial that club in and can hit it 100 yards or 50, and get it on the green from within 100, the rest is butter.
Viking Golfer
The putter followed by the wedge I use for short small precise chip shots into the green - this is a given question and pretty much all should have the same answer as mine smile.gif beee.gif

Putter, no question. That's my excuse for having so many of them biggrin.gif

Driver for me. If I'm hitting that well, I can hit shorter irons into greens. I feel that I can two putt from just about anywhere on my home course, so having wedge to 7 in my hands I can get it close enough where I can drain the occasional putt.
the_krulatz
No doubt that it's a players putter! Always has been, always will be!

Putter for me. Ever since I switched to the Corza 33" I've been knocking down putts that I would never have and lagging putts that I normally would've left 5' off. Took a little getting used to and some weight switching (took the 6's out, put 10's in).

After the putter I would have to say the PW. Not sure why, but I can hit the PW within 3 yards of each shot, almost 95% of the time.

Putter no question in my mind. After finding a putter recently that I feel comfortable with I've broken 80 twice in the last month.
chesterrc
Putter and my 52 degree wedge
simmoboy
Mine would be a toss up between driver and putter because if your not hitting in straight its pritty hard to go low but if your putting well you can usually save par or bogey.
marltonfjm
Without a doubt the putter, when it's off it's the difference between beating my cap or having a bad round as I typically scramble.
Ty_Webb
Would it be bad form to say the most important club in my bag is the one I'm pulling out to play my next shot with?

I like your thinking!
niketripp
The most important club in my bag is the driver. If I am driving the ball well then green in regulation are easier and I can start going for birdies.
cornbred19
for me, it's the 2 iron...i can shoot it under the trees and out of trouble from just about anywhere...
edgwriting
Has to be the one in my hands at any given moment.

Sure, the putter is important, but if you're putting for a double or more... the club that led you to being in that position seems have some major relevance. Matter of fact, if you're putting for a par, birdie or even an eagle... the club that got you there was a mighty important tool.

I love my putter; but it doesn't mean a thing if any of my other clubs are failing (or I'm failing them) and I'm not putting for a respectable score.

That's the beauty of this game; every shot on every hole with any club is important.

There were two questions here:

1) Which club is the most important and
2) Which club directly affects scoring more than the others.

The appropriate answer to #1 is "the next club I'm going to hit". I like that answer and to #2: The putter. You will use no club more than 18 times other than the putter which you will likely strike the ball more than 30 times.

The club that directly affects scoring more than any other is the putter.
TReed
My driver seems to affect my scoring the most but probably the putter is

the club between my ears wink.gif
