Granted it is more difficult to go fron a 6 to a 3 than a 35 to a 28 but, who here has vastly improved this year? Tell us your story how you got it done.

I think he meant golfwrx members, not the pros. But I have regressed, so I think I am the worst improved. Not working at a course and missing out on the free golf can really take a toll on ones game!

I have gone from 5 to 2 this year which I'm proud of. Had slightly slower progress over recent years and realised that in order to improve I had to work harder. Hitting the ball 10-15 yards further, ball striking has improved massively and short game is as sharp as it's ever been. Had to do a lot of work though. In the summer break I was practicing for 2-3 hours per day aswell as playing 18 or 36 holes. Based on that I have no excuses for not improving I suppose.
Also taken some time to look at alternate methods of improving such as phschology and fitness. Began to go to the gym regulary and read a few Bob Rotella and Karl Morris books which have really helped.

Its not the best but i got down from 14 to 9 this year. I didn't really do anything i just practiced my short game loads. Im putting in the work over the winter every saterday i go to Newcastle and hit about 100 balls about 4 times a day and then play 18 holes. My short game was the one that got me out of jail in the summer because if my long games wasn't working and i ws putting well i played much better. My best is about 22 putts per round. It was good enough for me because my aim was single figures and i got down to 8.7 although i am back up to 8.9

I got down from 22.3 to 16.2 in just two tournaments (first 42, second 47 stableford points). I only have time during holidays to play golf. The reason I think for improving so much is that in most holidays (the time when I play golf), there are no tournaments, where one can improve his/her handicap, so I practiced during these holidays and then took part in 2 competition in the other holiday where it was possible to improve the handicap.
All my handicap improvements were in big steps, my first one was from 54 down to 29.X. About 68 Stableford points in one tournament.

I feel really sad. My handicap has gone from 8.1 this time last year down to 6.5 and then back up to 7.9. I think it's just my mental game that's not on. Well, it seems that I've done nothing at all and just plateau'd (Can't spell it, don't think it's an actually word but everyone uses it.)

i have gone from 18 to 12 but i have only played 3 rounds in the last 2 months cause of my injured back and school ending. With school finished now i will hopefully drop a few shots in my 8 weeks off.

I went from a 8.6 last year to a 7 this year. It's not a huge jump but my scores have improved by quite a few shots. I also shot my best round ever 76 twice.
The most improved golfer this year I would really have to say is, Fuzzy_greek. I don't think he posts here often but he went from a 30 handicap toward the end of last season and I think he's now down closer to a 11! He works with me and the Dimarco Golf Dome, so he gets alot of time to practice, basically because I have to do all his work for him.

19 to 11 this year, including my first two rounds in the 70s (79 and 77). Probably owe it most to getting fit for my irons (Ping I3+). Then I got a big head and went to blades, whoops! Probably look at the MP-60s next year...

[I][B]Well I don't know about improving my handicap but I matured and learned alot from playing competition golf again. My handicap is the best it has ever been but I have learned alot from playing with players that can go really low. It's also one thing to shoot well when your playing with your buddies it's another to do it when you are under the gun.
I have played some really good rounds and have surprised myself a few times. But I have alos had those rounds when you just say who in the heck was playing that day because it sure wasn't me.
All in all I have just learned to play the game again and to handle the pressure much better just need to keep playing and who knows what will happen in the future...............My moto is just have fun and play the game and don't let the game play you!! The day I can't enjoy this game anymore is the day I hang up the sticks for good!!!!

Over the summer I have gone from about a 23+ish to about a 10 now but I am not satisfied until im consistently in the 70s by this year and scratch by next summer.
I attribute athleticism/coordination and lots of practice and lots of playing and... lots of practice.
Now if I could fix my driver and putt consistently...

A torn shoulder helps me land the spot for least improved in 2005. Put about 6 extra shots onto my handicap landing me at about an 8 or 9.
