Dave Pelz's Short Game Bible is a very good book for anyone - I definately enhanced my short game after reading his book. I have his Putting Bible on Adobe Acrobat but haven't read it as I feel putting is a much more personal thing. I have only used drills from it.

If nothing else, they both stress how important short-game and putting are to the total outcome of your round.
9 out of 10 golfers love to go to the range and throw out their backs blasting away, but they would be much better served practicing their putting stroke and getting up-and-down and out of green-side (or 100 yards and in) trouble.

Great books.

The short game bible really helped me. I figured out my different yardages with my wedges and really got them dialed in. What a difference it made! I now know exactly what shot to hit from 70 yds to a front pin or 85 yds to a back pin. With the laser rangefinder, I can really hit it tight.

agreed that it stresses this importance... but man, this book should be 200 pages LESS than what it is. there's nothing like repeating yourself repeatedly.

I have The Short Game Bible, I have read it, and I do consult it from time to time. Yet I do not use Pelz's "system". Maybe I should, but I am really trying to let myself play more by feel and less by conscious, calibrated, well thought out movements.

Pelz's method may well be an avenue to get to my goal, but so far I find I have better results when I just look at the target, heft my wedge a few times, give it a practice swing or two to verify, and give it a go. And when I do that, I think (not sure) that I am modulating both my backswing length and my downswing speed to suit.

I think the book is worth reading and having as a reference, regardless of whether you plan to use Pelz's "system".

Absolutely. Those blinded by hate for Pelz are missing out by disregarding the huge amount of info available in both DP bibles.

the art of the short-game and the art of putting by Stan Utley are much better.

I have a copy of each given to me as a gift...so don't need them as I already own them.

$10 each new. pm me if you want them. partytime2.gif
