You need a choice for "combo". I carry both a Staff bag for riding in carts, AND a Stand bag for walking. clapping.gif
mcbush25
I voted stand, but if you do get a stand bag look for a bag that has a cart strap. I have an Ogio Edge stand bag and it has a strap on the back that secures it to the cart that way the bag doesn't go flying around while you ride.
MCDavis
Ogio Vaporlite so I can carry if I want (3.5 pounds) or use it on a pull cart/riding cart. It gets the job done no matter how I'm playing.

Next bag I buy will be a Sunday bag for quick 9's.

I voted stand bag, but I also use a carry bag heavily. For medium to long courses, and longer rounds, I use a Navy Blue Hoofer Vantage. It is very comfortable to walk with, but it is on the heavier side. It can also work for the occaisonal cart ride. For shorter rounds, hotter days, and range sessions, I have a Red Titleist 70. I can easily fit 14 clubs, and a fair amount of stuff in it.
TOUCH
Sun Mountain c-130. The best cart bag for features, looks, and weight.
Super value......

Stand bag, Mizuno Aerolite. It's only 3.5lbs and it's perfect for me.
sheppy335
I carry my clubs all the time, unless vacation and scrambles.
FreakinA
I was a stand man, but not too much room in the dorms so Im using a Ping moonLite sunday bag.
divot46
I just have Sun Mountain Front 9 cart bags. Light, loads of pockets, and I use a pull cart when I walk anyway.
mat562
I've got examples of all 3 types.

I generally use a 6" top pencil bag, but a stand bag gets used when it's really wet to avoid the wetness soaking through when the bag gets laid down. I use the little bag whenever possible as it's not got a dual strap system that's geared towards carrying it on the right shoulder. A curved shoulder strap is a pain since I carry on my left shoulder, and the stand bag is forever trying to fall off when I carry it.

Staff bags only get used for storing old clubs and putters these days.
pro11ace
i use a stand bag just because it is light, i walk all the time. but if staff bags weighed 4lbs, i would use those instead!
Rabidpenguin45
I use a stand bag because it is so much easier to use while walking. Yes a staff bag works great at a range or if your in a cart, but in 90 degree weather at least.. its not the best thing to be carrying around. Im not too sure what a hoofer vantage weighs, but with the dual strap system it feels pretty light with all clubs and accesories in it.
bjackson
I am not a pro...so no staff bag. I prefer not to ride, and when I practice I like my clubs to be off the ground so no cart bag....stand bag no question.
nikeone
I am definately a stand bag. Only ride when it is included in green fees. Usually walk and my Ogio vaporlite bag is ideal for both.

Have you thought of which Sunday bag? Will you stay with Ogio?
By the way, I voted stand bag, but I use the tour bag you see here in my tournaments.

Pretty sure it'll be the new Ping Moonlite with the stand up strap. I thought I wanted a Mizuno Scratch Sac until I finally saw one this weekend in a store...just didn't like it like I thought I would.
dac
stand bags only.
generalpatton
Stand bag as I walk most of the time. Even when I didn't walk as much I had a stand bag, they're just easier to deal with, all the way around. I don't keep a lot of junk in my bag so storage isn't really an issue for me.

The torq strap is exactly why I can't bring myself to get the new Ping Latitude... I love the bag but its the little details to bring me back to the Ogio.
dukeblue12
I have a callaway stand bag and use it for everything.
propredicr
Have the Ogio Vaporlite for carrying and the Ogio Grom for riding with the torque strap for added protection on the cart. Love the bags, hate the legs...see other threads.

Same here. If Ogio would fix the legs, their bags would be near perfect.

I would switch, but I love the Woode club organization system. If I could Frankenstein the Titleist bag legs with the Ogio Woode, I would.
DaveyH
i have a pencil bag a tour bag and a stand bag so i didnt bother voting smile.gif
TRAPI
I voted for stand bag although I also use a cart bag too.

I mainly use the cart bag for winter, when I need to carry more clothes, rain suit etc. The rest of the year I carry the stand bag which I really prefer.

Mackenzie Golf Bags

Stand Bag. I haven't noticed the legs on my Grom being a problem other than they don't snap as quicly and completely as I would like, but I love the Tourque Strap when riding.
sanddog28
My primary is a Sun mountain C-130 considering here in Orlando the resort style courses pretty much force you to ride, however whenever i can get my feet back on the ground its an Ogio Vaporllite, IMO both the best bags in their category that i have ever owned.
mat562
Pencil bag.

In winter, I go to a bigger stand bag to stop the thing getting soaked when I put it down.

The only use for the staff bags I've got are for storing all my old sets and clubs in the cupboard.
90civicracer
Stand bag. I have a cart bag that is stitting on my golf rack with extra clubs, but I've been using my R7 stand bag this year and its been great to me.
iyan7
Voted stand bag. On the courses we play at my home country/city, a caddy is mandatory, and it would be very cruel if you brought along your full size staff bag.
kwcsports
Sun Mountain C-130 on a Clicgear cart for me. Awesome bag and cart.
twallyf
So staff bags will fit on a cart?
Brock
I have the Ogio Grom stand bag and use it 90% of the time whether in cart or walking; in cart it has a neat Torgue Strap that keeps back from shifting while strapped in and keeps it straight and upright.

I also have one coming as wife bought me a membership in the PlayersClub and a Burton Cart bag is included...I know nothing about it other than it has 13 fully divided shaft ports plus a putter tube and other things.

I love my Ogio though so the cart bag will have to be nice for me to want to change bags every time I take a cart unless I just get another set of clubs for it. biggrin.gif
Golfwolf
Stand bag, I currently have a Hoofer XTreme with the 8 way top, what a pain in the butt it is, thinking about the Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 bag, going to check them out on Boxing Day.
NXT ME
Voted stand since my old Ping Hoofer has handled the duties for about 7 years now but tends to get a little sideways with my driving the golfcart so I will be switching in a new Titleisr S85 cart bag this year which also carries ALOT more stuff; old Titleist staff bag houses all old sticks in basment.
Brock
That is what I love about the Ogio Grom and Edge bags....great carry bags....especially the ball silo and zipperless ball pouch...and of course Woode System....but it has that Torgue Strap and if you use it in the cart it keeps bag upright and from slipping sideways and twisting even with spirited cart driving smile.gif Tested and proven LOL

I've got the (I think) 2005 Taylormade Tay-lite stand bag in red and gold. It does the job, red is fading so its almost pink now.
Mongo
OGIO ATLAS
I heart blades
If I had to have only one bag for the rest of my life it would be a stand bag. That said I have a Staff bag for carts as well.
Konrad
Stand bag, Ping Hoofer in school colors.

Can't imagine why anyone would want a staff bag unless you shoot in the 60's or you need to store clubs.... biggrin.gif tongue.gif
PhillyHack73
2005 Ping Staff Bag which was a Christmas gift
jimmyjames
This one...
mozgolf
stand bag, its big enough for all I need, it doesnt fall over its easier to carry, takes less space to store and transport. Nike Extreme Sport
Franzie
I have the Tiger Woods replica from Buick, my in-laws have a Buick dealership and they got it for me from a contest. it is pretty sweet.
Pinehurst1999
I have the green Nickent stand bag and love the padding for the shoulder straps...a must for a good walking round.
blkdiamond
I recently got a Sun Mountain SCB Deluxe, since I use my cart most of the time when I walk I voted cart bag. I also have a Nike Xtreme Sport that I use when I carry.
pro11ace
Just bought a Taylormade TMX stand bag... it looks so sweet!
BENNYSUPREME
