The golf in Hong Kong is pretty expensive. A typical round is about $1,400 HKD which is about $185 USD at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. There was also another course I played last year that was on an island, I forget what it's called, but there were three courses on the island and it was about $125 for the green fees (included ferry ride) and about $70 for those holding a Hong Kong Identity Card. The course was in a good condition and was not very difficult. I heard the grass on the island is transported monthly from the used/old grass from the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
A better alternative is to hop on a train and go to mainland China for some better courses and cheaper prices. Mission Hills comes to mind.
I hope this helps.

The one on the island is called Kow Sai Chow.
There is another one called Clearwater bay. I play once in a while buti think compare to other couses in HK it is pretty hard. Its placed around the coast line, narrow fairways in some holes and quite al ot os up and downs.
500 HKD for weekdays accompanied by member and 1800HKD for the weekend. Its pretty pricey but it is a beautiful course. (maybe a little bit more as they brought up the price)
They have redesigned the course quite recently. Longer, more bankers, more undulated greens really tough rough.
Like Eelippsis says it will probably be cheaper to go to main land China to play. But this depends on where you go. (if you include transportation and stuff it is sometime cheaper to play at Cow Sai Chow. I think it is about 500HKD even on the weekend but because it is public course it is hard to book tee time.)
Hope this help
