I have just bought my first Adidas ClimaCool polo. I have always played in cotton polos (I know, I know, where have I been for the last couple of years) but am looking for something much cooler for Summer.

So... I like the fit of this new Adidas, boy and it sure seems cooler than my cotton polos... but before I go out an order a half dozen more... do any of you have any comments along the line of:

Boy if you like that ClimaCool, you're gonna "love" the <insert brand/model here> shirts!

I'm really looking for folks that have tried the ClimaCools and found something else they think is noticeably cooler/more comfortable. Thought it would be prudent to ask before dumping a few hundred on golf shirts.

Thanks!

Under Armour shirts. I have Clima Cool and the whole Nike line (Sphere, Body Mapping, UV, etc) and I prefer the UA over them both. I walk 80% of the time, and I can get done with a round and my shirt still be dry.

Thanks...

Doe you find the UA shirts are cut about the same as the Adidas? Or are they bigger/smaller?

Unfortunately I find quite a variance in some brands.

BTW... is there a particular line/model I should be looking at, or are they all "cool"?

Once you go climacool, you never go back! I've felt some UA shirts, but never wore one. I'm sure they are nice and comfy on hot days too.

I got a Puma shirt that's fantastic. Dries very quickly.

Also, I've found that the climacool shirts with the panels of lighter weight fabric material dry much faster than even regular shirts. Perfect for really hot days.

I am an Adidas man. I have tried the Nike, PING, and other mis. brands and always go back to the Adidas. They fit well wash well and in general just a great line of shirts. I have yet to try the UA line though. I have some of there socks, but nothing else. They are harder to find on sale/clearance.

Thanks to all. Think I'll stick with the ClimaCools.

dont pick the shirt based on the material.... if you find one that fits you perfectly just order every color you can find! I wish adidas shirts fit well but they are still kind of big and baggy in a Med for me and I wear a large usually. But now there is a motion clima cool with a lean fit and it fits me perfect in a large. CHeck this shirt out!

The Footjoy shirts were a surprise for me. Well made and very comfortable

Can't say enough about Under Amour. They're great.

I prefer UA and Nike myself. Climacool is nice too though!

I have a few Ashworth AWS (all weather systems) and Antigua (desert dry) shirts and I just came back from a golf trip to La Quinta/PGA West. These shirts worked really well in the heat. I do have two climacools as well, but they all are about equal.

I find the UA shirts a bit loose and not as form fitting as the Adidas and Nike lines.

But then I'm under 30 and pretty athletic so I tend like the Nike/JL lines the best.

I have Climacool, UA, Nike, Ping, Antigua, FootJoy, Tehama and Greg Norman Playdry. I prefer climacool. UA works very well. I would say that Adidas and UA perform the best, but my UA, Ping, and Norman have all seemed to have pulled a stitch very easily. The Playdry works except that it seems to retain BO (no antimicrobial). I have to agree that the Footjoy is a great shirt with great fit, but it is a little heavier, but not warmer. All tech fabrics are nice, just find a good fit and style you like. Adidas seems to offer the widest selection of both.

Thanks again... I am filling in my closet with ClimaCool's. I found this place online:

Pretty good pricing and selection. Note that the one shirt shipping is a little nuts, but buying 2 or more makes the per shirt shipping rate reasonable.

Enjoy!

I know the OP said he decided on the ClimaCools but I just wanted to put another vote in for UA. My top three would be:

1. UA
2. Fidra (very underrated)
3. Nike

I love my climacool mock short sleeve shirts, keeps you dry and cool plus great to play in! I have 7 of them!

I prefer the Nike Dri-Fit and Sphere Dry as well as the Ashworth AWS over the Adidas Climacool...the fits are a bit snugger and I like the selection better than the Adidas; don't get me wrong, its a great shirt and I still wear them, but simply prefer the others.

Seems like golf shirts are just like golf clubs... there is never a clear cut winner. (c;

ClimaCool for me. The newer model ClimaCool Pique Polo fits very nicely, a slightly leaner cut than the textured ClimaCool, very rich colors, and washes up nicely. I prefer pique to smooth fabric, but if you want smooth, try the UA Performance Polo. They fit well and the collar retains its shape. I only wish the UA had better colors (a couple are nice, like 'Lake'). A small point-the UA could lose the front logo.

I've had most of the rest: Nike, Ping, Greg Norman, but the Adidas ClimaCool is my preference.

Oakley makes some really nice wicking polyester shirts for golf as well. Not your traditional styling for a golf shirt, but they have some really nice styles, and I really like their mock turtle necks.
