After several years of putting my name in the hat for Masters practice rounds tickets, I finally got picked. I received my notice today...4 tickets for Monday. I've been 3 times before, all were on Tuesday and one time included a Wednesday. I hear Monday is not the best day, but hey, it's the Masters practice round and I'm very pleased to be going again.
If you applied for practice round tickets, be on the lookout as the notifications have been sent. Payment must be postmarked no later than September 30.
Sign up here if you got tickets. Monday, April 7 is only 216 days away. Tick, tock, tick, tock.

I got mine on Friday. Mine are for Tuesday and a friend got some for Wednesday. I wish they were Monday, though. I have never cared for the par three.

Now that I think about it, Monday isn't so bad because I'll have first shot at the merchandise tent!!! I know the stuff doesn't sell out by Tuesday or Wednesday anyway, but at least I'll be there when the gates open Monday morning and get my pick of the stuff.

I should be shot for not knowing this but where do you get your name on the lottery list. I went in 1996 after someone else couldn't use their tickets but at the time I didn't have the money to spend even if I was picked.

Still haven't heard anything and I am in Augusta. Doesn't look promising for practice tickets. Guess the tournament badges will have to do for now.

I got my notification last week. 4 tickets for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. I can hardly wait. This will be my first time @ Augusta. Anybody have any suggestions for lodging? The wife has declared a ticket for herself so we will have to stay somewhere nice.

dmares your best bet is to find a place 30-45 miles out of Augusta, otherwise they are going to be very very expensive...even the roach motels!!!

Thanks! Any place you can recommend would be great. I am not familiar with the area at all. This is the first time I placed my name in the lottery and I was selected. Beginner's luck I guess.

Just an FYI...I went on the Marriott and Hilton websites today to check rooms, and they all show "unavailable" in Augusta, GA. I've stayed at a local hotel in the past, but am not giving up the name because I need a room!
I thought I'd spring for something a bit nicer since my wife and daughter are coming this time. Looks like I'll have to check the outlying areas.

My wife is an aspiring photographer, so she will take all kinds of pictures. I'll be the "creative director" telling her which pics to snap. She'll want to shoot the flowers, trees, etc. and will probably think I'm crazy when I tell her to zoom in on a player's clubs.
I'll have pictures posted here by Tuesday or Wednesday for sure!

Where did you go to put your name on the list for the practice round tickets?

http://www.masters.org/en_US/about/ticket.htmlThis is in the FAQ section and provides the address. I've been on the list for several years and receive a ticket request form each year. This is the first year I've been selected.
Good luck!

Congrats to those getting tickets. I've been to practice rounds twice and it's a great experience.
If you don't mind a little drive, I've stayed in Columbia, SC both times - about an hour away. Lots of hotel rooms, not much price inflation.
Just took a look at the ticket request information... they want you to include your Social Security Number for requesting tickets?!! Did people actually do this? Seems like a strange request to me...
"The deadline for 2008 applicants is July 15, 2007. If you are not on the Practice Rounds mailing list, and would like to be added for 2008, please send your name, address, daytime telephone number, email address and Social Security Number to:

Providing your SSN allows them to prevent multiple entries from the same person.

That is a heck of a score for your first year getting all three days. I went last year & we stayed in Athens. It is about an hour and a half drive to Augusta. We did get to catch a Georgia vs. Clemson baseball game while we were there. I would look at staying at Madison if we were going to do it again. There is not much in the way of entertainment but it is a half hour closer. The University of Georgia is a beautiful campus though. You might also look at staying on the South Carolina side, maybe Columbia. It just depends on which way you are coming from.

Have you ever seen the hotel? We stayed a mile from the course last year and almost had to leave the hotel was so gross.

yep...stayed at pretty much all the hotels around National. None of them are the best by any means, but if you're going, you gotta be in the heart of the action IMO!!! Really though...I stayed in a nice place in downtown Aiken last year and I'll never do that again--just plain out too far from the course..especially with that ridiculous traffic trying to get there early in the AM.

Just last night found out we got 4 tickets to Monday! Damn lucky too because my wife had already booked our vacation next year to Aruba to leave on Tuesday! Whew! This is going to be fun working out the logistics on this one!
