Any input on pull carts. I was looking at the Sun Mountain Speed Carts but was wondering the difference between the V1 and V2? I am going to the golf shop on Tuesday to check them out but any input in advance will help me decide. Any other brands that everyone uses?

I have the V1 and its a great piece of equipment...very well engineered. As for their new new model, while there were changes made to the V1 design, I don't think that there are significant differences between the V1 and V2 to warrant the price differential.

I like the Bag Boy for $50. I play 4-5x per week with it and it's held up 3 seasons now without any glitches.

I just recently purchased what I believe is the original speed cart. I looked at a V1 and a V2, and actually liked the original better (plus it was a bit cheaper). The bag boy carts looked pretty decent as well, but the sun mountain carts just felt a lot better engineered.

I've only got maybe a half dozen rounds on the new cart, but I couldn't be happier. I really can't think of much, if anything, I'd change, and I don't think you can go wrong no matter which one you buy.

The V2 is a little heavier, heavier-duty, and has a slightly nicer console design. I can't recall whether or not it has that headcover net found in the V1 or not though. I'm all over upgrading when you have the chance, but only when the features justify it. That said, I don't think the price of the V2 is justified--only because the V1 is just that good. The only change I didn't like in the new V1 is that they went with the strapless (no bungie cord) retention system. Works for some, but I found it to be a little less user friendly.

As for other brands, I liked the clicgear more when I was shopping around and purchased that. I'm a huge fan, and don't look back at all. But I certainly don't turn my nose up at the SunMountains either. I've no real experience with the BagBoys, so will defer to others on those. Good luck.

Clicgear is the best cart out there right now.

If you search clicgear on this site you will see lots of positive reviews.

Sun Mountains are great, but clicgears are even better.

Thanks everyone, I will be picking something up on Tuesday.

sun mountains are like BMW's and the bag boys are like YUGO's. you decide.

that's what some people told me and i picked up a sun mountain and the thing is like a mactruck. it has hit a few trees on hillside "let-go's" and has held up well. i use it 5 times a week on a VERY hilly course. highly recommended.

oh--it's a V1.

I used the SM V1 for a couple seasons (the pre-bungee-less version.) Held up great. Still have it.

Went to the ClicGear this season. I like the smaller folded size and it is more balanced than the SM. I don't get nervous letting it coast down a hill. The SM likes to tip backwards if it hits a bump along the way. I use a cool pack on my carts for food and beverages, and the added weight made the SM flip backwards. No such issues with the ClicGear. The bag sits more upright in the clicgear.

The "new and improved" strapless system on the 2007 V1 and V2 is anything but. To keep the bag from jostling around while on the cart, the "bag brackets" need to be tightened pretty tight. Only problem- next time you go to use the cart, the brackets are then too close together to easily slip the bag past them to get it on the cart. What used to be easy and no issue with the bungee cords is now frustrating. SM goofed with this design.

ClicGear gets my vote.

My Wife uses a Sun Mountain Speed Cart V1 (original version) and I use a Carry Bag. While I have tried the speed cart, I'll take the cary bag any day of the week.

Pushing the cart can be a pain in the butt. It amazing how combersome those carts are trying to get to places that you just didn't think of. With my carry bag, I can go into the woods and have all my clubs with me, same with next to a bunker on a hill, etc. These are places where carts just fall short and become a pain to use.

Just think the whole cart thing all the way through. Up until I used my wifes for 2 rounds I was ready to pull the trigger on one. Now I couldn't be bothered.

Maybe he's tired from carrying his bag and can't help it? rolleyes.gif friends.gif

I purchased a clicgear and have been very happy with it. The folded size is great.

It is stable, easy to push, and looks good. I did not use any other cart so cannot

say how it compares. I carried my bag before but shoulders and back were beginning

to bother me. The clicgear is painless. smile.gif

I had a bag boy push cart and recently bought the clicgear. Hands down, I'm very happy with the latter. The primary reason why i "upgraded" to the clicgear is because it more compact when folded down. Another reason, is my Ogio stand bags fits very well on the clicgear.

Hope this helps.
