So, i'm such a nice guy, i played golf with an intern of my dad's. nice guy, ~30, maybe 130 pounds soaking wet. I got him a set of clubs to borrow (clevelands irons, wedges, launcher 9.5, 2 ball putter, pro v1's). This is a minor favor I am doing him, but in reality, it turns out the other way....
He doesn't have shoes, so wears tennis shoes. Buys a glove, i pay for his green fees (~50$ walking 18). So we hit some balls first out at Falls road in potomac, then played from the back tees, 6200, par 70. Poor guy hasn't played in 4 months.
First hole, he double bogey's, i par it.
2nd hole, par 5, i par it, he eagles it, hits a 3 wood from the rough uphill 225 6 inches to the pin. Someone else's clubs, sneakers, rough, uphill and he eagles the hole.
i'll spare you the rest.... He basically plays nothing good off the fairway and shoots 5 over for a 75. i shoot 93, due to two blow up holes of 5 over EACH.... jeez i was bad on those two and good on the rest... I should have shot 13 over or so but NO, i have to have two holes that were 5 over each.... oh well.
The dude just rips the ball with a driver on every single hole. he hits so far he cleared the bunkers at 250 or whatever out they would be. he didn't lose a ball which is even more amazing.
I did hole out on a par 4 for my second eagle of my life, so that is a big deal!!!!
my low still 85, his is 63.

oh, what i mean is i do him a favor with the clubs, fees, ride to the course, etc... But actually, to get a chance to play with a dude that good is a pleasure and he is doing me a favor by playing with me vs doods who are in his league...

I played with a guy wearing sandals, and not golf sandals. He shot 73. Makes you realize how important balance is, I've actually played in tennis shoes before, actually made me slow down my swing a little so as not to spin out. HMMMMMMMMMM???? Maybe golf shoes are overrated.

I played golf last weekend with a guy who was wearing baseball spikes and had no front teeth... got to love the muni courses!
P.S. He was horrible. Probably shot about a 200.

i was visiting my parents in florida, along with some other friends of the family. we ended up playing golf, and played a mini-match with my uncle (on his course) and i vs. my dad and his buddy steve. steve had no clubs; no golf shoes--he only brought adidas, adi-sage sandals; no golf shirt; no golf shorts. he played in those sandals, floral swim trunks, a tank top and borrowed 1980 wilson clubs and some used balls he purchased from some kid selling them in his front yard--i think they were orange to boot. he shot an 80 (for him, that is HUGE). needless to say we lost the match and bermuda steve and my father won. ugh.

Dare I ask which muni? I live in the Cinti area. Was it a 6 hour round of golf too?

Many of my friends rarely wear golf shoes while playing but they're all superb ball strikers and players.
