Fellow Wrx'ers,

Have you ever visited the regionalized playing partners and golf course review subforums in the Golf Travel and Life section? We think that these areas are underutilized and would love to see more activity in there. Just imagine if we could get a kind of Craigslist like thing going on in those forums, where folks can fill foursomes, advertise and find tournaments, get local knowledge on courses etc...

Golfwrx is one of the biggest golf forums on the internet, but there seems to be very little local action going on. With the exception of the Texas and Hawaii playing partner subforums, most of the regional forums are really quiet. California's regional forum is a glaring example. California is the most populous state, and probably has the most wrx'ers of any state, but the playing partners forum for Cali is empty like the Mojave Desert!

Lets get the local golf action going on this site! We can form local USGA clubs, create regional golf leagues etc.. Let's not leave this stuff for the Golf Channel who charges hundreds of dollars to play in their "Amateur Tour" , we can do it ourselves.

You can help out by popping into your regional subforum and posting a "shout out" to other golfers in your region. If you have extra space in your upcoming outing, post it up there and I will send out an blast to all the MyGolfBuddy members in your area informing them of the playing opportunity. Same thing if you are hosting an open golf tournament.

Lets not leave Golfwrx in cyberspace, get local!

I use the Course Architecture area more frequently now, but I have notice that post go unanswered for days sometimes.

With regard to MyGolfBuddy...I had a truly awful experience last year, and-no offense-I'd rather play as a walk-up single, or try to get a group of wrx'ers together.

Believe it or not, my experience was WORSE than that. I won't go into details (I actually did that in a post last year), but I ended up leaving the 2 guys I met and teeing off on the 16th by myself...with 2 holes open in front of me. I think you get my drift. I'm sure there are tons of good people on there, and I might try it when I move to Cali this fall, but for now I'm just soured.

My wife and I just met a group in Ft. Myers last weekend. It was put together from another forum and we had a great time, despite the bugs and heat. I'd love to see this section utilized more.

I've never had a bad experience with golfers I met on MyGolfBuddy. Granted there are a lot more beginning golfers on MGB than your typical wrx'ers, because newbies don't feel comfortable walking on as a single. However, I don't mind playing with less experienced golfers. Anyhow, MGB just added a new message board for golfers to hookup locally. Check it out at http://www.mygolfbuddy.com:2057/MGBBoard/w...htm?action=main

I probably use it more than anyone.

If you look in the section above Golf Travel you will see mygolfbuddy and Golf Course Design and Course Reviews broken up into different parts of world and USA....

Check it out!
