Sabbatini took five to reach the green and made double bogey, and as he walked toward the 10th tee, a spectator said: "Hey, Rory, still think Tiger is beatable?"
Sabbatini turned and glared. He barked at a police officer and demanded -- with an obscenity thrown in -- that the fan be taken "out of here."
Seems Rory maybe needs to slow down and think about his shots a little more. Oh and learn to keep his trap shut.

He didn't have to shake his hand. Didn't Rory walk off when his playing partner was too slow last year? Tiger should have done that, but he's got too much class.

Justin Rose"I thought, 'Oh, well, we're playing for second,'" Rose said. "And obviously, that's what it turned out to be. Rory and I were in different situations today. For me, vying for second place was an exciting prospect. With Rory, maybe it's a slight letdown."
This is another reason Tiger is so dominant. He gets in people's heads to the point that they pretty much concede to him. If Tiger was 8 back, do you think he'd just say, "Oh, well, I guess second is good enough."? NO WAY.

No, Tiger was away, pretty far, and lagged it into the cup. I loved the look on his face when he did that. Priceless! He had a sheepish grin that was like "What can I say? Everything is dropping today!"

Glad I could share this here.I watched it live and trailed the trio all day.It was fun to see Rory collapse like that.He literally started cracking at hole 3 and just completely mauled at #4.
Fast forward to the ejection incident...yeah it happened alright. He got his due on the 18th green right before their final putts.Somebody shouted "How do you like the new Tiger now?".The guy who shouted that got booed but it ilicited a frown from Rory.Hahaha serves him right.

I find it pathetic that he asked for someone to be removed from the course just because they asked him if Tiger was still beatable. If you can't handle the pot shots that will come at you after you say something like that then you should just go home.
My question is wonder how hard it was for Sabbatini to look Tiger in the eye on the 18th when they shook hands? I bet Tiger was loving every second of that.
So which Nike staffer is next in line to open their mouth and then get trounced?

one of the biggest unwritten rules in golf besides "don't cheat" is never ever trash talk in golf!!....especially on the best player in the world! i do respect the way how woods lets his clubs do the talking.......have not been a fan of sabbatini's ever since he pulled that stunt on ben crane.....

Mcbush, that's a good point, I wonder if Nike really wants their Staff players squabbling with each other. Not that Tiger is squabbling with Rory, it's all one-sided of course.
You just KNOW that if Tiger was an a$$hole, and Rory really bothered him, he could get Nike to drop him in a minute. But Tiger would never do that, he's too classy, and more importantly, Rory is like a mosquito to a giant-barely noticeable.

Tiger is a very tactful trash talker. His reply to Rory's original "beatable as ever" comment was something to the effect of "I've won 7 of my last 11 events, he's won 2 in his career." New Tiger? Old Tiger? It just doesn't matter, poor Rory is just one of the boys tryin to be the second best player in the world.

Like Tiger, Faldo handled himself well. During the post-round interview, he joked that he thought the shirt had something to do with sexual dysfunction:
QUOTE(Faldo via the AP)
"It is very embarrassing for them to bring their sexual problems to the golf course," Faldo quipped. "Poor fellow, he has enough problems as it is without her announcing to the world."

A find the whole tyrade on rory a bit ridiculous. Especially some of the childish hooting from some of you .I cant remember many people kicking up a stink when DLIII asked someone to be evicted from the matchplay due to some pratt shouting "no love" constantly. I do feel RS left him self open with a comment like he made, he now realises probably you dont F&*k with Tiger woods but laying into him like this is a bit off. The guy is trying to do a job on a golf course like any of them. His comment about Tiger I feel would have been a strong sentiment from a few players but Rory was the only one to have the balls to say it. Yes he got trashed on the course yesterday but fair play to him. He shook hands at the end of the day and next week is a new adventure. Im not siding with anyone here I just find the labelling of asomeone we barely know a bit off.

i like Rory, he is one of the most fun players on tour to watch/read about. He does things his own way, he's cocky, he has an unorthodox swing and he always says whats on his mind.
If there were no Rory Sabbatinis on tour, then there would be no interesting news about golf. If everyone talked like Tiger did...AKA lying through his teeth, always saying whats right just because its right, it would be an awfully boring world. Tiger always says and does what people expect him to do, Rory is real. Tiger has to say these things because he is such a role model, but it just gets old sometimes in my opinion.
Payne Stewart was a cocky guy, everyone liked him. Davis Love has whined about spectators, everyone likes him. Rory walked off a green when Ben Crane was putting...most of us probably would have done the same thing.
I dont think people should be ridiculed for being REAL. Id much rather follow a guy like Rory around for a day of golf then a boring guy like Zach Johnson.

That's because the DL3 incident happened, what...7 years ago? Had Love pulled that recently, I guarantee there would be some outcry. Maybe not as much as there is with Sabbatini, but there's a good reason. Hypocrisy. The guy can talk smack, but can't handle getting talked at. Gerald was known for publicly disparaging dissenters, but not too publicly...only in more "secure" forums. This is some of the best stuff I've read in a while.
I agree with a lot of you guys that what Rory did was uncalled for, but if it was any other sport no one would care, but because it is golf, a gentleman's sport, some things have to be dealt this way - as much as we love to see it. But in future I think Rory has to watch his mouth and understand that he is also playing that gentleman's sport, not the NBA - because Karma can be sweet and it can be painful.

He said Tiger is beatable thats very true. It just seems he can not do it.
Seriously I like cocky I like that he wants to run his mouth. Its even more fun when someone shuts him up.
If I was playing against him I would slow play the hell out of him.
What I do not like or understand . Is what gives him the right to get a fan kicked?
The fan was not heckling him , yelling in his backswing or anything like that. He simply asked a question.
Does anyone knows what the rules are regarding this.
I still contend the idiot police officer should have told Rory to stuff it.

That seems to be OK with the tour. They will fine him later, but so what. He could probably reach into his pocket, get his money clip, and pay the fine right there.
The players can swear at the top of their lungs, throw clubs, spit in the cup, etc... and the tour does nothing. But if someone in the crowd speaks above a whisper, throw him out.
I'm not saying that heckling should be OK, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

I have to disagree with most posts here. I LIKE The fact that Rory was trash talking, believing Tiger was beatable. For 10 years Tiger has gotten into most of these guy's heads, and more times than not, it looks like they're playing for a top 10 finish, take your 100 grand, see you next week, thankyouverymuch.
What would everyone be saying if Rory said "No, I don't think anybody can beat Tiger". You guys would be all over him!
Sure, he's a loud mouth, probably said crap he shouldn't, but the tour needs more fiery competitors like him.
