Has anyone tried these before?

I'm thinking about ordering some.

Why they aren't metal?

No sorry I haven't... I've always used Black Widows...

The center spike is metal. The outside area is plastic. That's why courses won't allow them.

I've used them. They are great! BUT the metal spike in the middle is VERY large. They make a pretty big imprint in greens, so you must walk carefully in them. They give you the best traction possible. The black paint will wear off of the metal spike the first time you wear them. I've included a side-by-side-by-side picture of a normal Champ Stinger, a regular champ metal, and a Pro Stinger for comparison.

That's a cool photo, thanks for adding that to the thread. That middle spike is large

I just bought these last week. Having never used metal before - I never knew what I was missing!! Really Really Great stuff, the bite is unbeleivable! Now I need to find out wich courses will let me wear them.
