Anyone else have issues with their synthetic fabric shirts and sweat stink? Especially here in Texas my shirt is soaked by the time I am done warming up. Point is this, I came across a write up for a product called "WIN High performance sport detergent". It claims to get into the trapped bacteria in microfiber shirts and athletic apparel.

Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

Haven't tried that detergent. After use I soak my shirts in water with a little vinegar, and then wash. It does the trick.

When I wash the Under Armor shirts that I use for hockey, I just put in a lot of detergent...works for me!

Same problem with all of the synthetic fiber type shits. Never tried Win but there is an enzyematic cleaner that Scuba Divers use to get the funk out of wetsuits called "sink the stink" that's available in Scuba stores. Might want to try that as well.

Good ideas. I was also thinking of putting a tight container with water and detergent in my trunk. Since I change shirts after golf it would soak in detergent until I get home.

odo-ban alittle in the water w/ your detergent .....good as new......baking soda will also work

Or presoak in a little QuicknBrite and water. Enzyme based cleaners are what you want here (not more detergent).

I Just saw Win detergent in Golf Digest. I did a bit more research and came across a New York Times article that had a professional triathlete test these sport detergents. Win got the best review out of the other 4 sports detergents.
Hope this helps.

UPDATE:

Just washed all my clima cool shirts with WIN and played a sweaty round with the one that was the worst offender. It worked as advertised. So much so that even my girlfriend was taking whiffs to see if went away.

I bought some and tried it, it works really well on all my polyester golf shirts, and it's cheap too, $7 a bottle that's supposed to be good for 14 loads.

Looks like most of their local retailers are Dick's Sporting Goods.

OOPS! I don't know that I'd use a container with water and detergent for THAT!

BTW, there was a little blurb in this months Golf Digest about Win detergent. I think it was in the Mr. Style section.

Got some WIN the other day and it works like a champ......Best stuff around but it's a little pricey......If it gets out the golf funk, I'm all for it......

I've had good luck with 12 Mule Team Borax as a supplement to my regular detergent. Just add a half cup to each load. Inexpensive and smells great. You can buy it at Target and similar retailers.

I bought from the website www.windetergent.com.

I guess I'm lucky, 'cause my shirt don't stink.
