It's kind of hit and miss.

I like Azinger, but I'm really am glad to have Judy Rankin and Peter Ailiss back, they are my highlight of golf on TV and I never realized how much I'd miss them (especially Rankin) until this year.

It could be worse. Remeber the U.S. Open this year w/ ESPN's Chris Berman?
nandoal
It seems like there is a commercial every 5 minutes!
Studio B
it's better than that behind the scenes stuff that they were doing with the John Deere last week. like i care what the guys behind the scenes do i just want to watch golf! that was the worst!
dudehere
Clampett is he worst! The way he fawns over Tiger is obscene.
jswanson
I am with you on this....Clampett was all over Tiger's jock...."oh it's such a good swing" and Tiger hit it in the bunker....Clampett should be thrown off the tower..........Tell Faldo to hurry up and miss the cut so he can get his butt back in the chair and call golf........

Haha, you're right. I should count my blessings.

Thanks for the reminder.

Anybody been watching it? Everything is horrible, from the commentary with azinger, camera angles, stupid side stories, I would've thought they would give the British coverage a little more glam like the cbs coverage.

Do they share camera shots with the European coverage of the event?

He is terrible, he said the best part of Tiger's game was his driving---geez

I'd rather hear Clampett than

"And we now take a break from all the live action for a 7+ minute story on something irrelevant from Jimmy Roberts."

Who loves Tiger more, Kelly Tighlman or Bobby Clampett? I mean go ahead and cancel all upcoming tournaments and give the next 20 majors to him. I will say that I love Paul Azinger. What he said about Sabbatini actions with Ben Crane at Congressional a few years ago were classic!

To their credit, I believe they get their video feeds from the BBC, but yea lots of commercials. When I am dedicated enough to make a point to watch live golf at 7am EST, I don't want commericials!

Excellent point!

I remember watching the British as a kid and the picture would be very grainy, so at least that is gone.

What I don't like is the thing that goes across the screen when they go from player to player.

For once here in the UK we had it real good!

Full golf coverage on the BBC From 9.00am to 7.30pm 10hrs live and no commercials!

then a highlights program for an hour and half!

It was fantastic!!!!

FYI - the BBC coverage starts at 9.00 am UK and finishes at 7.15 pm UK, with not one commercial during that time. They will also show every stroke that Tiger hits.

No actually the beeb is really good at showing you the whole of the field rather than spending all their time following Tiger. Obviously if Tiger is in the lead (and he normally is!) they show a lot of him but thankfully they rarely waste our time with Tiger walking between shots which some other broadcasters seem to be in love with. If your coverage is 90% Tiger, that's because they've replaced the shots of everyone else with adverts and those idiot talking heads.

I'm working from home today so it's on in the 'background'! God I love that there are no adverts...

What get's me CRAZY is this: I have an hour lunch. I got to the local bar to watch an hour of TNT coverage and I get stuck with a stupid At the Turn retrospective of the 1865 British Open for 30 effing minutes! I swear I was going to throw my beer mug at the tv.

If you poll EVERY golf fan watching, guaranteed there is not 1 person who cares about this crap. I just don't get why networks continue to shove this stuff down our throats, when all we want once a year is to watch golf shots.

My original comment, although accurate, was intended to be slightly sarcastic, given that US Tour coverage shows Tiger's every move, but you will see all the leaders' shots too on the BBC.

It takes a few minutes for people to get into position and get the next group of people ready for the next couple hours. You should have let them know you were going to be at lunch drinking beer, maybe they would have turned that crap off.

Personally it gave me time to go get some stuff done around the house.

At least it looked like after the first day they got rid of that stupid Wii game boy noise everytime they switched pictures. That might have been BBC but boy was that irritating almost as irritating as 5 minutes worth of commercials every two shots.
