I've searched and read through the threads on travel bags/covers, and with a few exceptions, the general consensus seems to be that the ClubGlove (and the BurstProof specifically when it comes to a cover for stand bags) is the preferred product.

And while I am perfectly ready to rely on the opinion of the collective, I was wondering what makes the ClubGlove better than other travel bags?
I am also assuming that the wheeled version is mandatory. How well do the wheels work?
Thanks.

In line skate wheels, very smooth. Hard plastic wheels on other inferior products can smash and break off when thrown about.
Plus the cheap plastic wheels are crap. bumpy ride.
Build quality and design.. that's what sets it apart.

People like hard cases because they see the abuse that they can take but they don't fit cars well. I've taken my last bag on on about 5 trips and I've used a stick, turned most club heads down and packed clothes in it to pad it more.

Charlie,
I use the Club Glove Last Bag with a stiff arm. Why? While I travel with a stand bag (Sun Mountain 3.5), the Last Bag gives me room to put shoes, clothing, extra golf balls, etc. The design is very user friendly and durable - 2 side pockets for shoes; internal straps to keep the bag from moving around; heavy duty straps on the outside; heavy padding on top to protect clubs; heavy plastic on the lower back side to handle curbs and other obstacles without tearing the material, etc.
The shoe pockets have shoe bags which is a nice feature.
It also comes with a lifetime limited warranty, and you can upgrade to the lifetime "unconditional" warranty.
I'm not going to lie, I got mine in a member guest, so I didn't have to shell out the $250 to $300. However, knowing what I know now about this bag, there's not another option IMO.
Spend the extra cash and get the Last Bag...you won't regret it!

I bought one and used it for the first time about a month ago... I bought a stiff arm that helps with support and protect if it was dropped on the end. I wrapped heads of my clubs in towels for more protection and didn't have any problems. Plus Club Glove has a guarantee if shafts get broken they will replace them free of charge.

Get the Last Bag from Club Glove with the stiff arm and wrap a towel around the heads. Hit their website and look at the duffel bags, I got one that matches the L/B. Lots of options.

I went with the BurstProof from Discount Dans (best price as usual), because I didn't want something as big as the Last Bag. I've got tons of rolling bags, duffles, etc from my snowboard travels.

They have a reputation for durability second to none. My Burstproof lasted five years and over 15 trips and looked like it was new. Protected the clubs great.
I gave it to my dad and bought an Ogio Monster. After one trip, it showed disturbing wear marks. Although they replaced in under warranty, I traded it in for a ClubGlove Last Bag.
I cannot say this enough. DO NOT GET THE BURSTPROOF.
Once you have a ClubGlove, you will enjoy travelling with your bag. As you travel more, you will learn BIGGER IS BETTER. Although a Burstproof will hold most bags, it doesn't leave room for other stuff you will need for golf trips. In particular, the Travel Bag is a great for bringing back "extras" you didn't take with you. Throw the dirty clothes in there, you have more protection, and you free up room for stuff you are bring back for the wife/GF.

Only thing to remember regardless of the bag is the weight limitations for airlines if they enforce them.... I believe it is 50 pounds. Last time i weighed the whole bag & clothes it was 35, and that was a light packing of clothes, so BE CAREFUL!
good post with Onebulldogs pointing out to get the bigger bag in case you need the room even with a stand bag.

I have a Burst Proof and use a Stiff Arm as well. My stand bag, clubs, two pairs of shoes, change of cloths along with other miscellaneous stuff all fits fine. I usually come in around 45 pounds witch leaves me a little extra room for the return flight. I have owned my burst proof for about 4 years now and travel with it around 6-9 times a year. It has held up well, but dose show some sine’s of use, to be expected. Over all I will buy another one when this one falls apart, which should be in another 4-5 years.
