The Donald was denied a conditional 3-month permit to open the golf course located in Rancho Palos Verdes due to a detection of a tiny ground movement - eight hundredths of an inch - about 120 feet below the 10th hole by the City. In addition, the Coastal Commission is still working on permitting the opening of the driving range.

Is this the course he spent $100 million on fixing it after an earthquake?

was it an earthquake or was it just the 18th green fell into the ocean. any way you put it, seems like a money pit to me.

bummer. I wonder if I'll get my 1 million dollar initiation fee back? I guess I need to call the Don to cancel my tee time.

I am sure Trump will get his way and get it opened as soon as he needs it to be.

Do you happen to know how much a round for non-member is at Bedminster? Or are they completely closed to the public?

Exactly. Hard for the Easterners to accept, but fact is to the Coastal Commission and many others out West, Trump is a nobody. Eventually he'll get the course rolling, but it sure is costly.

I used to work at Trump National LA. 3 holes fell into the ocean due to a landside, not an earthquake. The course is public, not private. It will be $300 weekend, and $195 on weekdays. The entire $300 million isn't just in the course. That also includes the land and the houses he is planning to build, plus the state of the art practice cetner and the newly remodeled clubhouse. The 18th hole is the most expensive hole in golf at abate $60,000,000. They had to put concrete pilons (sp?) into the ground to stabilize it and avoid another land slide.

Trump is getting it up the butt from the city. They are trying to get every little thing their way, without realizing the huge potential for added tourism and commerce. They are the ones who forced it to be public, they also forced him to put a public park between the clubhouse and the ocean with beach access. The parking lots are all public, so if you go there park wherever you want! They also required low level income housing on the property? The 17th tee box is a man made elevated spire type looking thing. They put a limit on how high Trump could make it, they said it obstructed the view, which is crap. All the houses on the road are at least 100ft. above the golf course, and the course is only going to add massive value to their homes. I don't get their problem?

The city is trying to prove who is boss. If Donald Trump wanted to come to my home town, invest $300+ million, I think we would let him do things according to his plan. They are only hindering their own future potential. I think it should be public, that is fine. But all the other stupid things shouldn't be an issue. There are many PV residents who go down there and put up a fuss about the stupidest things. I think they just want something to complain about.

You're one of the lucky ones. When Trump took over the course, formerly known as "Ocean Trails," he had to accept all contractual obligations the course had already. Which include torunaments like yours. The only people who have played the newly redesigned Trump National are the head pros, their friends, the LPGA, and these little tourney's every other week or so.

Sorry Bro! But I like the Zukerman's and too bad they lost the course and the housing development to the lender who then sold the whole thing to Trump at a firesale. All that Trump wants is to take the place private, get his money and then get out ... he does not give a %^&# about the people living in the surrounding area.

Thats never going to change. A lot of the people in PV are used to getting their way and always find things to complain about. I grew up in Torrance, and know plenty of people in PV.

I didn't say Trump gave a crap about the people. I said they are screwing themselves by putting 1000 stipulations on the course. I don't understand why they don't want it open ASAP??? The quicker they get it open, the quicker the area will make even more un-needed money!

Also there is a plan for a new resort down by the old Marineland. I bet they won't be delayed as much as Trump is. I mean they wanted to open in April, now it might not be before next year. PV people need to be quiet, let them finish, and play a round of golf in LESS THAN 6 HOURS!!! My god, Las Verdes is the slowest course on the face of the planet!!! I can't even begin to imagine how long they will take on Trump National with all the blind tee shots and sidehill fairways. You might need to book a reservation for your nights stay between nines!!!
