Several years ago I purchased a beat up used Scotty Cameron Laguna 2.5 for $70. It was very dinged up but managed to stay in bag for every round after that. As it was in brutal shape including ding just of the centre of the face I always planned to get it refinished, but I could never part with it long enough to get it done. This year I decided after the fall match play championship finished for me I would send it in. I lost in round two and off to the custom shop went my putter. I wished I had taken a "before" picture, but I never did. Anyhow any sign of abuse this putter had is gone:

Looks really really good man. I love the color scheme as well. It will probably be hard for you to take it out on the course now, haha.

That is one of the best looking Laguna 2.5s I have seen! Great colors and tastefully stamped.

Well I got to game it today. It was pouring down rain and real windy, but I figured it IS a stainless steel putter, a little water won't hurt it.
I putted great with it, made EVERYTHING inside 10ft and manged to pour in 2 20 footers, in the end I had 22 putts and tied my course record despite haveing lots of trouble getting the ball to the green thanks to the weather. This putter now feels a bit softer then it did before, I am not sure if it is the mill marks on the face (it didn't have those before) or even more likely the softer grip (wich by the way I love) |

not trying to be intrusive, but how much did that set you back?

Very Nice!!
I've been trying to decide what colors to pimp my Scotty? Been back and forth for two months! I might even ask my kids to pick them. I really like the light blue you picked. |

not trying to be intrusive, but how much did that set you back? Too Much! The basic restoration is $145, with that you get the head redone, custom paint fill, new shaft, new shaft band, New grip and headcover. Stamping is $30 up-charge, I also went with a upgraded grip + $27 and then I bought the upgraded headcover for $49 (could of got a stock one for free). I only bought the headcover as I am planning on selling it. That headcover sells for about $150 on ebay as you can't buy them from SC unless you get a putter done. So I figure I can make $100 back on the deal. I prefer to use my plain AM & E cover anyway as I don't like to draw too much attention to my clubs when I am not with them. There are cheaper option if you just looking to have the head redone. This post has been edited by 2bGood: Nov 7 2009, 09:50 PM |

I know that there are some dynamic craftsman on this website who do fantastic work, but I gotta say that The Custom Shop just blows me away every time. The entire package is why you buy a Scotty, and why you send it to them for freshening up. Love the stamping on this one, just simple and beautiful.
It makes a guy like me very jealous, but I'll join the club some day as well. |

You get what you pay for with the Custom Shop. The work is always top notch and the integrity of the putter has been maintained. I have one in right now and I know I will not be disappointed when it returns. Thanks for showing this one. It turned out great!!!

I wanted the SC custom shop grip, when I priced out getting a hold of that and getting the head done at BOS, and then getting a good shop to put it all together, going with the SC Custom shop was a no brainer. Glad I did.

A lot of people bash the custom shop but IMO if you own a Cameron then its the only way to go. Other places don't reshaft and re-grip the putter which is worth $50 or so in itself.

Great looking putter and a nice choice of colors. My first Scotty was a Laguna, I wish I had never sold it.
