I like Yani Tseng's swing at times (early last year)

and Anna Rawson

With all due respect Dan, I followed Anna at the Safeway Classic this year and I thought her swing was awful to look at. Not something I would want to emulate at all. Her chipping technique left much to be desired as well IMHO.

Awful? I guess we see things differently. I happen to like it a lot.

How old is that video? Her swing looked nothing like that at the Safeway. Much "looser", not nearly as compact, and very wristy on the chip shots.

Video is a year old or so and the photos are very recent. Her swing has gotten shorter and more compact over the last year with her left arm much lower and a shorter more extended finish (braking faster).

Thank you iteachgolf, these pictures are awsome, that is exactly what I was
looking for to see since there are not many "still" photograph swing sequences
on the internet.

Ana Rawson has a very nice swing. I noticed though, maybe because it is
an iron, but that she cups her left wrist very early on the backswing, as opposed to Angela Park and even other PGA tour players.

I have been reading that the arm/club arc should be kept as long as
possible on the backswing (Golf Mag, Golf Digeest), and that then comes
the cupping of the wrists, but I guess this is all not as relevant as long
as the club position on the top of the backswing ends on the correct position,
and then the downswing is another story, where the hinging should be maintained until last for stored power release on impact.

If we compare Anna's swing with Tiger (to name a well documented and photographed
example), we can notice the difference I am talking about on the backswing.

But again, we would need to compare a "driver/driver" picture of her with another
player in order to really do the apples to apples comparison.

Cheers...

From the video I have seen Angela Park's looks the best-so fluid and balanced. In reality the best swing is the one that repeats the best so that the ballflight is consistent. Looks don't really matter as looks (tempo, balance, etc) can mask faulty positions. The ball only knows that at impact it is being hit correctly. It doesn't care how it got there. But I sure like Angela's swing!

When it comes to driving, yes I like M.Wie. She has that long extension and turn with power. I like it

But, for most part, I have to say either Angela Park, JY Shin or Annika.

They are very smooth and connected.

Thank you Altusbeliever,

I agree with you on that the goal is to hit consistent/effective shots,
but the shortest/safest way to get to that is to have a balanced,
technically sound swing, which for a beginner (my wife) can be adopted as
a model.

Usually the bests swings are the ones that are
most discussed, observed, photographed, and published, as it happens with
Tiger Wood's swing.

For ladies, it is not as published as men's swings, as you can notice by googling
swing sequences on the web. So that's why I started this thread to get
some opinions and feedbacks, such as pictures, unpublished swing sequences, consensus, etc.

It seems to be working, as many members mention Angela Park, though, as
you see there are currently not many posted videos, photographs on her swing,
but only one iron swing by her.

I liked michelle wie's swing better when she was younger. There is something about her swing I don't like these days. I can't put my finger on it. It doesn't look fluid, ahhh~~ I can't explain it but it looks like its to mechanical. Anyways thats why I vote Angela Park.

If you look for her fanpage on Facebook there are two video's of Angela Park's swing. One down the line and another from the front. Granted these were her just messing around but you get some idea.

Let me start with I am a Michelle Wie fan, always have been. However, everyone seems to be picking the big stars, with the fluid looking swings as being the best. I disagree.

If Wie or Tiger had the best swing they could repeat it, again-again, they can't. That is why they spray their driver all over the place (Wie also sprays irons). Neither is consistent, Tiger is a great iron player and putter and can usually make up for a sprayed driver. Wie has not been able to recover with consistently.

Although Annika did not have a great looking swing, it was consistent. A great looking swing is great to have, but hitting the target consistently is what makes the best swing.

With that fluid swing you must have repeat ability, a killer instinct, and be a really good chipper and putter.
